OBJECTIVE: STRONG DRIVE AND INTEREST TO EXPOSE MYSELF TO THE PROCESS

ENGINEERING AND DEVELOPMENT ASPECTS OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING ESPECIALLY FROM

R&D STAGE TO PRODUCTION AND GAIN EXPERTISE IN THE SAME

Education

Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, University of Oklahoma, USA (May 2009).

Grad Level Courses: Advance Transport Phenomena, Advance Reaction Engineering, Advance Polymer

Science and Engineering, Simulation and Optimization of Pipeline and Natural gas Units.

Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University,

Anantapur, INDIA (May 2006).

Experience (Primary Interests: Materials Science and Engineering)

Research Associate (June 2009-Present)

Integrated Core Characterization Center (IC3): Center for Rock Physics, University of

Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma.

Managing technical servicing and research projects (Planning, execution, monitoring, control

and closure of a project) and maintaining work flow at the research facility.

Primary Area of Research: Understanding and Evaluating Various Properties of Shales

Some of the Research Projects in Progress

• Developing an FTIR library for the organic content in shales to quantify its

presence using FTIR and SEM

• Calibration of an Acoustic Microscope to understand the behavior of Shales.

Graduate Research Assistant (January 2007-February 2009)

Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma, USA.

I worked with the department of Civil and Environmental engineering in understanding the

extent of asphalt recycling in Oklahoma and the setbacks in its low usage in the state. As a part

of the team, developed a protocol to evaluate the performance of RAP (Recycled Asphalt

Pavement) and wrote a proposal to implement this, to the Department of Transportation,

Oklahoma.

I worked extensively to understand the surface chemical behavior of asphalt binder, modified

with additives, which reduce the working temperatures of asphalt mixture thus reducing costs

of pavement construction and detrimental effect to the environment. In a team which consisted

of Civil engineers, Chemical engineers and Chemists, we developed optimum percentage levels

for these additives that can be used in pavement construction without compromising the

performance of the pavement.

Thesis: Wettability Studies on Modified Asphalt Binder and Aggregates

Undergraduate Intern (December 2005-March 2006)

Indian Space Research Organization, INDIA.

Worked under a senior scientist at the facility, in a team of three, on Experimental Estimation of

Propellant Flow Behavior and Study of Typical Critical Failure Modes

Publications

Evaluation of Wetting Behavior of Asphalt Binder Modified with Warm Mix Additives on

Aggregates, Submitted to The Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, ASCE.
