EXPERIENCE

Safety Manager/Facility Security Officer 2008 - 2010

Coastal Cargo Company, Inc., New Orleans, LA

Serve as the staff specialist in safety by developing and carrying out

procedures with the loading and unloading of various vessels carrying

cargo. To effectively control accident and health exposures in the company

and minimize OSHA citations. Ensures compliance with all applicable

federal, state and local legislation and codes governing environmental

health and safety. Develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance

with regulations and guidelines. Ensures personnel training, corrective

actions and follow-up's are completed. Develops and implements accident

investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and

procedures. Monitors all current information on regulations and

requirements related to hazardous materials and agents. Directs industrial

Serve as a Program Manager and Advisor, for a training program, ensuring

job proficiency of over 2000 military personnel annually. Directed

training of Military Operations in an Urban Environment (MOUT) with units

deploying in support of the Global War on Terrorism. Conducted safety

presentations, training military personnel in areas of safety policies and

environmental hazards. Managed daily operations to include classroom

instruction, field/lane execution, and night time operations. Served as

Subject Matter Expert, instructor, and evaluator in charge of MOUT sites

valued at $250K, and GSA fleet valued at over $60K.

Armor Personnel Manager/Maintenance Manager 2001 - 2004

US Army, Fort Knox, KY

In charge of the maintenance and combat readiness of six M1A1 Abrams Main

Battle Tanks and the accountability and serviceability of all assigned

equipment valued in excess of $22M. Consistently maintained over a 90%

operational readiness rate for all equipment. Managed the training,

discipline, morale, health and welfare of 14 Soldiers. Supervised daily

personnel and equipment for training missions performed at the United

States Army Armor Center and Ft. Knox.

Drill Sergeant (Training and Development Supervisor) 1999 - 2001

US Army, Fort Knox, KY

Supervised an Assistant Platoon Sergeant/Drill Sergeant. Conducted risk

management to maintain a safe, but realistic training environment.

Transformed 180 civilians into Soldiers every 15 weeks. Provided training

of basic skills and reinforcing the MOS-related skills to Initial Entry

Training Soldiers (IET). Counseled, guided, and instilled the Army Core

Safety Manager/Tank Commander 1996 - 1999

Served as the Safety Manager for 21 months, enhancing safety awareness for

73 personnel. Implemented and enforced safety policies and procedures

related to fire equipment, office operations, and personal safety.

Presented safety awareness and accident prevention briefings daily, prior

to the start of operations. Received two quarterly military awards for

outstanding performance as a Safety Manager. Also served as a Tank

Commander, ensuring the health, welfare, and training of three Soldiers.
