PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Teaching Assistant – UTSA Mechanical Engineering Department September 2007 - Present
• Taught for the courses Engineering Analysis & Solid Works for up to a class of 60 students.
• Taught course Algebra Based Physics in department of Physics and Astronomy.
• Mentored the students with their homework and graded their papers.
• Conducted class lectures in the faculty absence.
• Worked as a research assistant for flexible manufacturing systems lab.
• Worked for ITEC a program sponsored by AT&T to inspire young people by creating an environment where they can
understand how engineering, science, and technology shape our lives and the future of the world.
Internship, Bharat liners ltd, Vijayawada, India April 2006-July2006 & Dec2006-Aug2007
• Prepared and implemented action plans effectively to maximize overall equipment efficiency of production machines.
• Evaluated work processes and recommended changes to improve overall efficiency.
• Implementation of safety audits, 5'S.
• TQM, TPM, TPS Systems, JIT, KAN-BAN system, lean manufacturing, Single piece flow concept.
• Arranged training programs to enhance productivity using improvement techniques such as 5'S six sigma
• Fool proof System (POKA YOKE), 7-QC tools.
RELATED ENGINEERING PROJECTS:
• Designed a model for optimal placement of parts in rapid prototyping in order to reduce the total build time using
particle swarm optimization technique.
• Designed a machining sequence in delmia from data collected from a company to determine the bottlenecks and
optimal batch size.
• Designed a model for integrated product and process design tool using particle swarm optimization to generate a
collection alternative design and process plans that have optimal values lead time, cost and number of suppliers in the
design of microwave modules.
• Did a project case study “Whataburger Restaurants LP”. The project is defined to analyze the current state of the
enterprise production process and find out different types of wastes associated with their processes. Proposed using
Statistical Analysis methods and Value Stream Mapping in order to reduce the wastes and the result of solution
implementation (Future State) are discussed at the end.
• Project presents simulation-based study of evaluating an FMS for its performance characteristics. The objective of the
project is to develop a discrete event simulation model in Arena software that could analyze the system in detail, and
provide a basis for investigating the effects of various control rules on the performance of a random flexible manufacturing
system (FMS) operating under different manufacturing environments.
• Did a project on creating and assembling all components of tool head of a shaping machine using CATIA. The top,
front, right-side and the isometric view of the assembly are created later.
