ACADEMIA EXPERIENCE

The Penn State University, University Park, Pennsylvania USA

Communications and Space Sciences Lab, Dept. of Electrical Engineering.

May 2007 - Present

Advisor: Prof. Ram, Narayanan.

. Research Assistant

. Thesis Project - Original RF Tag System Design

. Designed a communication system between RF tags and radar using UWB

random noise signals, where the RF tags assist radar to recognize

friendly assets, and send simple messages about the assets to the

radar.

. Designed the architecture of an RF tag and achieved greatly improved

simplicity and energy efficiency.

. Proposed a mechanism to combat multipath signals'

interference for the system.

. Developed algorithms for target detection and localization using RF

tags, and information routing within the RF tag network.

. Achieved major improvements in protection of data signals from

detection and analysis by undesired parties.

Electromagnetic Communication Lab, Dept. of Electrical Engineering. Sept.

2006 - April 2007

Advisor: Prof. Raj, Mittra.

. Analysis of FSS designed for dual frequency applications

. Analyzed the scattering characteristics of finite periodic FSS

using the method of FDTD.

Teaching Assistant, Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Spring 2009

. Taught senior/graduate level RF/Microwave Engineering course in a

laboratory setting to a class of 42 students.

. Aided students on the class project - Balanced Amplifier. Helped them

in the balanced amplifier design, simulation and fabrication.

. Extensive hands-on hardware experience including: installed and trouble

shot laboratory equipments such as network analyzers, spectrum

analyzers.

. Graded homework and held office hours.
