ATA Airlines, Inc. (Global Aero Logistics Inc.)

April, 1989 - September, 2008

Indianapolis, Indiana

ATA Airlines began as an Indianapolis-based travel club and charter carrier

in 1973 and by the mid-nineties grew into the nation's largest charter

carrier and tenth largest U.S. scheduled service airline, specializing in

leisure travel. At its peak in 2001, the company employed over 7,800 and

had revenues of $1.4 billion. The impact of the terrorist attacks in 2001,

subsequent unprecedented fuel prices and market competitiveness forced ATA

into bankruptcy protection in 2004 and eventual liquidation in 2008.

Sr. Vice President -- Employee Relations (Reporting to President and

CEO)

(December, 2004---September, 2008)

Directed all aspects of Human Resources and Labor Relations.

Accomplishments: Guided the Human Resources function through the

bankruptcy process in 2004-2006, resulting in a 70% downsizing of the

company, while also serving as chief company spokesperson in

negotiating concession agreements with all five unionized employee

groups. Subsequently led all Human Resource elements related to the

2007 acquisition of World Air Holdings, and subsequent functional

integration at the new Holding Company. In 2008, managed all HR-

related aspects of the liquidation of ATA.

Vice President -- Labor Relations (Reporting to President and CEO)

(August, 2001---December, 2004)

Because of scope and criticality of Labor Relations initiatives,

recommended split of Labor Relations and Human Resources.

Subsequently led a staff of specialists in coordinating company

relationships with five national unions representing over 60% of ATA's

employees. Served as chief company spokesperson for all collective

bargaining, as well as advisor to both senior management and various

functional management teams on all labor matters.

Accomplishments: Successfully completed collective bargaining

agreements with each union group in direct negotiations without any

form of job action, minimizing operational impact on the airline;

effectively managed the various grievance processes to minimize open

grievances and arbitrations.

Vice President - Human Resources (Reporting to CFO)

(April, 1989---July, 2001)

Led and managed a staff of up to 35 in the development and delivery of

all human resource policy, program and consulting services, including

but not limited to Corporate Employment, Training and Development,

Compensation, Benefits and Employee Communications. Also responsible

for company relationships with three national unions and serving as

chief spokesperson in contract negotiations. Served as an advisor to

senior management on all people-related issues.

Accomplishments: Transformed administratively-oriented and reactive

HR function into a consultative, pro-active, value-added organization;

established state-of-the-art processes and programs to match company

strategic goals; successfully negotiated four labor agreements without

workforce job actions while improving the overall relationships

between the company and three unions; twice led fundamental redesign

of employee benefit programs resulting in enhanced employee benefits

and reduced costs. Also managed a more than tripling of the workforce

and fundamental changes in company culture as the company redirected

its strategic focus.

Career Consultants, Inc.

1985-1989

Indianapolis, Indiana

Career Consultants was a full-service human resources consulting firm

specializing in executive and middle-management search, outplacement,

management training, compensation and employee relations for both large

corporations and entrepreneurial businesses throughout central Indiana.

Executive Vice President

(1988-1989)

Oversaw the sales and delivery of human resource consulting services

to the entrepreneurial market segment in central Indiana. Total staff

managed ranged from seven to twelve consultants.

Accomplishments: Developed and managed the two largest client

accounts in the history of the company at that time. Developed the

human resource planning and general HR consulting service products,

broadening the client base as a result.

Vice President -- Search

(1985-1988)

While initially responsible for Manufacturing/Technical Search as a

Director, in less than twelve months became responsible for the sales

and delivery of approximately $800K in executive and middle management

search services (all functional areas) throughout central Indiana.

Managed a staff of ten to twelve search specialists.

Accomplishments: Implemented the sales strategy for conversion to

retained vs. contingency search services, establishing Career

Consultants as one of the largest retained search firms in Indiana.

Cummins Engine Company, Inc.

1972-1985

Columbus, Indiana

Cummins is the largest independent manufacturer of diesel engines. Sales

exceed $4 billion and the company employs over 15,000 worldwide.

Director -- New Business Development

(1984-1985)

Member of a small, senior staff responsible for establishing an

intrapreneurial effort to create additional corporate revenue streams

and jobs for reallocated Cummins employees.

Accomplishments: Six business proposals were developed and two were

approved for funding.

Director -- Corporate Communications

(1983-1984)

Managed the design and implementation of multi-media employee

communication programs worldwide. Accomplishments: Created a state-

of-the-art monthly video magazine and an eight-page tabloid newspaper,

as well as coordinated video business updates by the company

president.

Director -- Corporate Personnel Administration

(1981-1983)

Managed the administration of all human resource activities

throughout the company, including recruiting and employment,

management development, affirmative action and the human resource

information system. Also responsible for managing various office

facility services such as graphics, printing and mail services. Total

staff consisted of 135 employees and an annual operating budget of

over $6 million.

Accomplishments: Streamlined total group resulting in improved

productivity and cost savings in excess of $1 million
