TECHNICAL

EXPERIENCE:

1/05-Present Full-Time Technical Experience, Honda R&D Americas,

Raymond, Ohio. Working as a materials engineer with a

primary focus on the research and development of new surface

treatment technologies in such areas as paint, plating,

adhesives, and corrosion protection. Responsibilities

include designs of experiments to analyze multiple variables

in an efficient manner to obtain data for material and

process designs and specifications, project and timeline

management, quality audits of supplier processes and

controls, new product trials in lab environments as well as

scaled up in a mass production factory setting, advancement

of current materials and processes in pursuit of quality

improvements and cost down initiatives, root cause analysis

and problem solving of quality concerns, and supervision and

training of lab technicians. All work is conducted in a team

environment with Purchasing, Design, Manufacturing, and

Environmental groups to consider all aspects of each project

including cost, feasibility, usability, safety, and

environmental impact. Project updates are presented to

management on a monthly basis and presented to company VPs at

completion. Written technical reports are also issued upon

completion of supplier audits, material developments, and

material specifications. Major accomplishments include the

development of a corrosion resistant coating for magnesium,

chrome plating pitting countermeasures, PVC free adhesives

for environmental friendliness, and ongoing research of thin

film electrocoat. Other responsibilities include department

safety leader and HPLC analytical leader.

1/04-1/05 Full-Time Technical Experience, Sovereign Specialty Chemicals,

Akron, Ohio. Worked as a polymer research engineer and field

support representative. Major projects involved daily

manipulation/engineering of urethane adhesives to alter

viscosities, cure times, cost, and quality to meet the needs

of each customer. Also involved with technical support in

the sales of the flooring, roofing, and structural insulated

panel markets.

5/03-8/03 Chemical Engineering Co-op, PolyOne, Avon Lake, Ohio. Worked

as a polymer research engineer. Major project involved

research, development, and synthesis of inherently conductive

polymers. Also melt mixed various experimental polymers with

a Brabender mixing head.

8/02-1/03 Chemical Engineering Co-op, PolyOne, Avon Lake, Ohio. Worked

as a polymer research engineer. Major project involved

research and development of thermoplastic vulcanizate

elastomers. Also worked as an extruder technician on a

WP25mm extruder.

1/02-5/02 Chemical Engineering Co-op, Ashland Chemical, Pittsburgh,

Pennsylvania. Major project involved designing a flammable

liquid drum distribution warehouse. Side projects involved

filter replacements and storage tank removals.

Major projects involved participating in a plant shutdown,

startup, and pump failure corrections. Side projects
