PICA, (Provider Information Credentialing Automation), Blue Cross Blue

. Developed database stored procedures, packages for the PORTICO Oracle

database for the data migration/conversion project from the CEDB, PA&R,

and FACETS legacy databases. The data is extracted into Oracle staging

tables through Sql*loader scripts using flat files which are extracted

from legacy systems. Developed various routines for cleaning the

extracted data from the staging tables and further loading into the

Target Oracle database.

. Created the database level constraints, triggers to enforce data

integrity and also developed the error log procedures to aid in capturing

the rejected data and further analysis.

. Created the master tables with proper constraints, which were used as

lookup tables to load the transaction tables, these master tables were

used also for the integration of data from different source systems. The

transaction tables were created with proper referential integrity

constraints so as to prevent loading of orphaned rows. Also made use of

temporary tables, so as to improve the load process. The data was loaded

into the target database in 3 steps :

1) Sqload into staging database.

2) Pre-Load process during which data is cleaned, missing information is

loaded and fabrication of data/codes is done.

3) Target Load, this is the final load into the Portico database, which

is defined with proper constraints and referential constraints and

database triggers to validate the incoming data.

The actual load is verified through various logs and a detailed report is

submitted to the management and development team members for

understanding the cause for rejections and fixing them for the next load

. Developed the scripts necessary for weekly loading of the data into

Oracle database and creating the logs of extract for reporting purpose

for the management. The logs report the duration of loads for different

tables, number of rows loaded, rejected and the completion of load.

. Created the various database schema objects like synonyms, sequences,

EK outstation locations, Aircraft, Pilots and Aircraft engineers.

Outstation locations across the globe use the online web module for

acknowledgement. The system is used for ensuring and tracking that all

the relevant people are holding the current version of the required

documentation as mandated by the Civil Aviation Authority. FOTLIBS is a

similar system developed for the Flight Operations with some

customizations.

ARC-AAT (Airworthiness Rel. Certs & Airworthiness Approval Tag System)

. Involved in the design & development of the above system for use in the

various maintenance sections of the Emirates Engineering.

. The above system is used for printing Airworthiness Rel.certificates

authorizing the release of the aircraft after completion of the necessary

checks/repairs/modifications and replacements done on the aircraft. The

certificates printed through the system are mandatory requirements of

various civil aviation authorities like FAA, GCAA, and JAA etc.

Yield Analysis (DSS).

. Designed the star schema model, Extraction logic, log checks and

Controls to ensure data validation.

. Yield Analysis is used by the Revenue section of the Finance department

to analyze and understand the key factors which impact the revenue trends

across different periods and also against budgeted data. Data at coupon

level is aggregated and loaded into the staging tables which is then

validated and loaded into the star schema tables for two comparison

periods for factors like POS, Origin & Dest, Sector, Route, Currency how

they affect the revenue of the airline during various analysis periods.

Emirates engineering - Data warehousing project.

. Involved in various roles as Data warehousing Development DBA, Designed

and developed various subject data marts to the satisfaction of the

Emirates Engineering.

. Delivered the following data marts to the business: Inventory, Aircraft

Defect Monitoring, Part Information, Repair Order, and Production

planning and control, Technical Delay Information System and Modification

Control. The data for these systems is extracted from the Mainframe

ADABAS database using PL/1 and Natural programs and loaded into the

Oracle Data marts for the set periods. As reporting is not flexible and

tedious in mainframe, the data was extracted, validated and loaded into

various data marts which helped the business in replacing close to 200

reports from the OLTP system. Users are given access to the data marts
