July 2009 - March 2010 Senior project Engineer with Karpinski
Engineering. Interacted with clients to
provided preliminary designs and costs.
Continued to work with clients to performed
final design, cost analysis, and construction
schedule. Developed bills of materials,
requested quotations, and procured materials.
Designed and analyzed power distribution
systems. Analyses included load studies,
protective device coordination studies,
determination of fault currents and arc flash
levels, calculations of protective relay
settings and voltage drops using EasyPower
software and SKM software. Designed power,
lighting, grounding, fire alarm, nurse call,
and emergency power systems for educational
and medical facilities, and hospitals.

University Medical Center. Perform multi tasks for
both the Operations division and the
Planning/Development division as a valuable team
member. Operations responsibilities encompasses
working with technicians and electricians to repair
and maintain various systems. Systems include power
distribution systems, lighting systems, engine-
generator systems, fire alarm systems, nurse
call systems, television systems, clock
systems, and integrated building automation
systems. Operations related work also includes
interacting with the nursing staff, the
physician staff, and upper management personnel
to develop and implement solutions to an array
of deficiencies and desires, and project
management. Planning/Development tasks consist
of reviewing consultants' contract documents
from schematic design through final
construction documents, suggesting solutions
for design deficiencies and installation flaws,
performing on-site observations, and developing
standards and details to be incorporated in contract
documents.
October 2002 - October 2003 Involuntary unemployed. While seeking
employment I was self employed in the fields of
consulting and construction. Projects varied
from residential houses to commercial
properties.
November 2001 - October 2002 Electrical Engineer and Project Manager for
SRA, Inc. Performed a variety of tasks on many
projects in conjunction with other electrical
designers and independently. Tasks included
complete electrical designs for power systems
including primary distribution systems,
lighting systems, communications systems, data
systems, fire alarm systems, control systems,
security systems, man down systems, and
grounding systems. Other tasks included
estimating, shop drawing reviews, master
specification review, development of drawing
standards, holding job site project management
meetings, evaluation of contractors' proposed
changes, assisting contractors with the
selection of material suppliers, and
coordination and formulation of client's needs
into project documents. Projects included
warehouses including conveyor systems, office
complexes, housing units, fire stations, retail
stores, restaurants, and correctional
facilities.
October 1998 - October 2001 Electrical Engineer for URS Corporation.
While working independently on my projects,
assisted less experienced designers and
engineers with their projects in the many
aspects of design, code review, specification
writing, estimating, shop drawing review, and
project management. Performed QAQC (quality
assurance quality control) for projects.
Interacted with clients to develop reports of
existing facilities, and formulate possible
solutions to problems, optional expansions
possibilities, or rework of existing systems.
Work included the following tasks: Remolding
design of an office building for Nationwide
Insurance Company in which the construction
cost was able to be lessened approximately
$700,000.00 through presentations to the local
authorities having jurisdiction, design of a
new air traffic control tower at Wright
Patterson Air Force base, design of host sites
that incorporated DC power plants and megawatt
engine-generator installations for various
internet providers, presented a Microsoft Power
Point presentation to convey the existing
conditions, possible solutions, ideas, and the
needs to be included in a comprehensive
restoration/renovation of the William Oxley
Thompson Memorial Library. Performed
assessments of schools throughout the State of
Ohio for the Ohio School Facilities Commission,
redesign of a proposed design of a middle
school that resulted in an estimated
construction costs savings of $300,000.00 by
interacting with local utility company
representatives and the authorities having
jurisdiction.

specific job specifications, field engineering,

managers and clients to insure project design

Equipment Company. Duties included developing
solutions for proper installations, hands on
assistance with field personnel, testing
apparatuses and equipment installations,
estimating, material requisitioning, sales,
project administration and management,
drafting, control designs and modifications,
complete extensive engineering and design of
power distribution, lighting, control, life
safety, audio, video, communications, data,
lightning, and grounding systems. Teamed with
architects and engineers of other construction
companies, and clients for the following design
and build projects: office complexes for Busch
Properties, office and manufacturing facilities
