PROFILE
Ed Draper's commercial software regularly handles hundreds of thousands of
unique users everyday and controls the movement and tracking of billions of
dollars of revenue. While at Microsoft he advised some of the largest
companies in the world on how the latest and most advanced technology could
be applied to meeting their business needs. He solely authored over 18
commercial software titles on topics ranging from human physiology to
commercial games and e-commerce solutions. His early work on CD ROM media
was awarded a presidential design award from President Clinton.
He maintains advanced level skills in almost all of today's relevant
software development tools and is a proven leader with extensive project

overall enterprise architecture. These highly mission-critical
applications included order management systems, energy trading systems,
airline travel systems, and many other critical IT systems. HP, Dell,
Schlumberger, ExxonMobil, Baker Hughes, BP, AMD, and BMC Software were
among the companies supported. Also advised many smaller start-up
companies that leveraged Microsoft's BizSpark program.
. Partnered with customer management and executive teams to develop
cost justification and risk management strategies in adopting new
technology, sometimes in the Beta and even Alpha stage.
. Managed marketing, budgeting, and forecasting for Microsoft's
Partner, Visual Studio Tools, and Customer operating models for Central
Region (North Dakota to Texas).

Compaq 1997 - 2000
Roles: Architect, Lead Developer
. Lead Architect for Core Order Management that served as
the primary ecommerce API from Compaq's web based
applications to multiple fulfillment engines, such as real-
time entry into SAP, EDI 850, email, and fax. This effort was
Compaq's first foray into real-time order management via the
web.
. Lead Architect for eProcurement. This project handles
billions of dollars in revenue from Compaq/HP's larg- est
customers via their extranet sales engine.
. Team Manager and Lead Developer for Daytona, Compaq
Consumer Division's web-based modem driver installation
software.

. Designed, developed, and administrated the Levit RPI web
site which was one of the first websites in the city
(made the local TV news at the time).
. Authored multiple radiologic multimedia teaching
applications which were presented to thousands of people at
national medical conferences.
. Developed courseware-authoring system that allowed
physicians to present case materials in clinical confer-
ences.
. Developed touch screen driven testing application which
was used by the American Board of Radiology in physician
certification. Codesigned and developed multimedia SQL
radiologic database. Developed com- plete Java based
telemedicine client/server solution under a Texas State
Advanced Technology grant.

SKILLS (summary)
. Developed Arctic Data Interactive (ADI)-the United States Geologic
Survey's first fully interactive multime- dia publishing vehicle. ADI
incorporated images and other data sets originating from sources as
diverse as satellite transmissions, side-looking aerial radar images, and
Bowhead whale harvest data. It also contained a complete database
detailing all scientific resources available on the arctic. This project
received a Presi- dential Award for Design Excellence from President
Clinton in 1994.
