customers from the graphic arts, real estate, and SOHO market. Achieved a

. Trained entire staff in the fundamentals and intricacies of core
technology to manufacturing process - emulsion polymerization.
. Successfully managed process of modifying the hardware/media interactions

Research Associate
. Identified a major deficiency in a polymer laminated packaging material
being shipped to key accounts in Japan. Determined the cause of defect
and developed a solution to alleviate problem and eventually saved those
multi-million dollar accounts
. Applied advanced surface characterization methods (XPS, FTIR, SEM, AFM)
and contact angle measurement for polymer packaging films to understand
the mechanisms that caused the adhesion and printing failure. Based on
these learning, a new manufacturing process for corona treatment was
developed to improve our product performances. A net annual saving of $20
million was generated from this improvement.
. Developed a laboratory plasma vacuum process to significantly improve the
barrier property of regular polyethylene film and sourced the plasma
treatment process from outside laboratory.
. Developed test methods to study the barrier property of various polymer
films and multi-layer polymer laminated paper composite for liquid
packaging applications.
