Objective:
Seeking a position as an electrical engineer with a specialized interest in
electronics, audio systems, power distribution, networking and
communications, musical amplification, military aircraft, design, RF, and
robotics.
Education:
University of Texas Pan American Harlingen High School
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering Graduated May 2005
Minor in Applied Mathematics 4yrs consecutive Top 10%
GPA: 3.77
Graduated May 2010
Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam, certification in process
Relevant Courses:
Some of my engineering courses include Electrical Circuits, Electronics,
Power Systems, Electromagnetics, Automatic Control Systems, Topics in
Radar, and Renewable Energy. I was also part of a team of two other
students who designed a high powered pulsed semiconductor tester for our
senior research class. In each of these courses I have used the tools I've
learned in mathematics and in programming courses. I have applied Calculus,
Statistics, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations in all of my
engineering courses. Along with mathematics I have programming experience
with the languages of C++, Assembly for microprocessor programming,
Verilog, C for microcontroller programming, and MATLAB for numerical
computation of vector and matrix math. I also have a basic understanding of
cryptology concepts that I learned while completing my minor.
Achievements:
While I've been in college I've been awarded a number of
scholarships. I've received scholarships from Boeing, AT&T, UTPA
Engineering Dept., Bentsen Engineering, UTPA Academic Grant, and UTPA's
Smart Four year grant. I was also a Texas Scholar and a Dean's List
recipient almost every semester I've been in college. In high school I was
in the 10% of my class for four consecutive years.
Volunteer Experience:
Regular volunteer for various functions for Sam Houston Elementary, Lamar
Elementary, and Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. I was also an
active IEEE member during 2008-2009 for the local chapter at my university.
Work Experience:
Boys And Girls Club Summer Camp June 2009 - August 2009
Mentor, Computer Technician, Music Instructor
Tapia Signs January 2005 -
June 2005 Assistant
Long Term Goals:
To gain further understanding of electronics, design,
robotics, power distribution, amplification, aircraft, mechanics, and
electrical circuits. I would also consider enlisting in the Army or Air
Force to become an officer. To be employed where distinct leaps in
technology will be made, to work with a team of other engineers and
possibly earn a second degree in another field or earn a masters in
electrical engineering.
