constant ramps in Production requirements.
Texas Instruments, Inc. - Manufacturing Supervisor
2000-2008
. Held supervisor positions in 3 divisions, managing and coordinating 4
compressed shifts in 24 / 7 operation. Handled required duties while
assuming additional responsibilities during ramp to production.
. Assumed supervisor's role in test area at request of Mfg. Manager
because group had experienced highest turnover of supervisors in
division (26th supervisors in less than 4 years). Realized a 90%
improvement in reduced costs resulting from drastic reductions in
crashed probe cards, machine downtime, wafer scratches and breakage,
and operator turnover. Improved cross training within 6 months so the
majority of operators could work in any of the 5 processes of the test
floor.
. Instituted cost savings by reducing processes producing inferior
product and enhancing performance of specialists on the line through
cross training.
. Assessed a request to ramp and maximize tester setups from 50 to 150
immediately. Declined and moved forward through the chain of command,
saving 100 probe cards at $40K each and scratched silicon wafers at
$1200 each.
