Summary
I am a manufacturing manager that has had extensive training in Lean
Manufacturing, Kaizens, 5S, TPM, VSM, Six Sigma and Team Building. Along
with the training comes years of experience using these tools out on the
shop floor and within my staff to build a better overall operation. I have
excellent people skills and can speak to the shop floor or to the President
of the company. I have reduced cost in all of the positions that I have
held and can make the difficult decisions that need to be made.

presses and 140 hourly associates with 3 supervisors and 6 group leaders.

Shift Supervisor
I am currently working as a supervisor on a 12 hour shift in a continuous
operation environment. I am in charge of all production personnel along
with maintenance, shipping and quality.
. Completed a 5S project in the waste oil storage area within the first
60 days of my hire.

. I have been assigned to a shift that had little leadership for the
previous years. I have been tasked with changing this culture using my

. Combined operations and established work cells lowering cost using
Lean Manufacturing Principles.
. Decreased overtime by over 25%.

. Reduced staffing from 3 people/shift down to 2 people/shift on a
major piece of equipment that resulted in reduced overtime and cost.

Extrusion/Forming Business Unit Manager
I was responsible for all functions within this area. Safety, quality,
efficiencies, full budget responsibilities, equipment procurement, policy
and continuous improvement were some of my duties. I was asked to go back
to this area when another manager resigned and was immediately tasked with
heading up automation projects for the extrusion department. These projects
were not budgeted nor were there any previous plans upon my return to this
area.
. Working with my engineering group and outside firms, installed an
automation project on the end of our continuous spiral line that allowed
us to reduce the crew size from 3 people per shift down to 1 person.
. Fabrication of 2 additional automation projects for additional lines
was underway upon my acceptance of a position with another firm.
. These additional projects were going to reduce staffing levels down
from 2 people per line down to 1.

GM/DCX Business Unit Manager
In charge of the day to day operations of the GM/DCX Business Unit with the
same responsibilities as listed in the previous assignment.
. Implemented 5S in the finishing area commonizing all of our work
cells.

. Installed new reinforcing equipment that allow us to reduce our
changeover time from 1.3 hours down to 18 minutes taking us to Best in
Industry according to Ford.
. Introduced a implemented a non-contact measurement system which
eliminated step pins and pi tapes and improved our gage R&R.
. Implemented OEE boards on all extrusion lines.
. Implemented KanBan boards on all extrusion lines.
. Improved our printing from worst in class to best in class by
installing ink jet printers on all lines.

Extrusion Supervisor
I was in charge of a shift in the extrusion department. My responsibilities
included safety, quality, discipline, adherence to schedules and all other
duties that may have been assigned. I worked on special projects to reduce
cost and was the person responsible from the production area for the start
up of our first continuous lines.
. Assigned the responsibility for the start up of our first continuous
line. We had the line up and running at a target 3% scrap within 3
months.
. After the successful start up of the first line, I was again assigned
the responsibility for the start up of the continuous knit line.
. Implemented the first tool crib within the plant for all of the
extrusion tooling.
. Hands on experience working on cost reductions.
. Hands on experience on the shop floor, hired in as an hourly worked
and promoted to shift supervisor after 4 years.
