Supervised daily operations of four payroll teams including
Off-Cycle Check Processors, Garnishments, Payroll Compliance and
Time Reporting Team.
Ensured each team met deadlines for semi-monthly and bi-weekly
payrolls for over 50 thousand multi-state employees. Ensured
departments met service level agreements for tickets assigned from
our HR Call Center.
Improved process for distribution of child support payments.
Gathered requirements to establish Electronic File Transfer (direct
ACH from payroll) for each state receiving paper checks through
Accounts Payable. Established contacts with each State Disbursement
Unit to initiate, test and maintain EFT. Facilitated changes needed
by technical team to allow for QA testing to ensure new garnishments
were keyed correctly. Documented new processes and trained end users
on new procedures.
Produced monthly reports for senior management on department
metrics, goals and productivity. Provided ad hoc reports as
requested.
Processed garnishments for WA State including system set up,
required answer forms, payment and GL reconciliation.

Payroll Business Analyst
Acted as department analyst for Time & Labor System, Garnishment
Team, Off-Cycle Check Processors and Sarbanes/Oxley (SOX) audits.
Captured business requirements for all proposed changes to Time &
Labor system. Collaborated with stakeholders, product managers and
QA team to define functional specifications and product features.
Projects included: Allowing part time San Francisco employees to
accrue and use sick leave, changing rounded time entries to exact
time entries, creating disaster time reporting codes to track
employees affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters.
Partnered with QA team to provide User Acceptance Testing for system
upgrades and changes.
Worked closely with HR Call Center to monitor spikes in calls to
identify possible defects in time reporting system. Escalated issues
to technical teams as needed and provided status updates to
stakeholders on resolution.
Documented business requirements for new reporting tools to allow
Division Executives to monitor time reporting compliance in their
division.
Automated off-cycle check process. Met with end users, gathered
requirements and functional specifications then implemented
department Access Database. Created queries, forms, reports and
macro's, and provided daily support to more than 60 users.
Performed department SOX compliance audits and made recommendations
for process improvements based on audit findings.
Collected legal requirements from all 50 states for handling special
lump sum and bonus checks for employees with garnishments in
arrears. Calculated estimated amounts if fees were collected from
employees for processing garnishments.
