lead inventory improvement processes. Directed all plant-level Accounting,
AP, Cost and Payroll functions for a cast-iron pipe manufacturing company
with over $150 million in revenues. Led staff of five. Presented financials
to both plant level and corporate level senior managers.
Supervised 3 day monthly closing process including preparation of P&L's,
management reports, cost reports and variance analysis.
Prepare project requests, cost studies, ROI's and post-audits. Control
major expenditures through approval and review of project system.
Write Crystal Reports extracting from Baan ERP System. Reports include
inventory transactions, cost trending, AP payment detail, lost discounts,
AR and AP aging, historical purchases, miscellaneous queries as necessary
to drive cost reductions.
Drive cost reduction by developing financial awareness of management team
resulting in conversion cost reductions of $34/ton over prior year and
$7/ton over plan. Additional studies of non-variable costs revealed
opportunities for annual savings of $1.8M to plan.
Member of corporate Best Practices team. Projects include developing super
metrics for casting and finishing, establishing inventory controls and
developing "scrap or rework" decision makers.
Led inventory team to reduce finished goods write-offs from over $250,000
per year to less than $50,000 per year for three consecutive years. This
was accomplished by identifying and correcting procedures and reporting
errors as well as establishing new policies for inventory controls. Reduced
inventory process from 2 days to 1 day.
One of five team members for Baan IV ERP system migration from a three
company logistical system to a one company logistical system. Responsible
