Orion, MI 2005 - 2010
Responsible for managing all activities of the human resources function at
this manufacturing car assembly plant employing 2600 hourly and 230
salaried employees.
* Negotiated a competitive operating agreement with local union resulting
in a cost savings of $56M over the life of the agreement and full
implementation of Global Manufacturing System.
* Ensured the successful launch of third shift operations and met business
needs by staffing with an additional 62 salaried and 1100 hourly employees
within a three week timeframe.
* Received the GM Chairman's Honor Award.
o Negotiated an agreement between two local unions allowing laid-off
skilled workers at Weld Tool Center to assist Orion skilled employees with
new body shop tooling installation, saving $1M in project expenses.
