2010 - 2010 Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services Gibson City, IL

Chief Financial Officer

. Directed the Financial Operations of a 25 bed acute care critical

care hospital with 40 long term care beds with approximately $60

million in Annual Gross Revenues.

. Direct reporting Departments - Accounting, Business Office,

Registration, Information Systems, Materials Management, and

Medical Records.

. As a member Hospital Administrative Team worked with other team

members on a number of issues such as Physician Recruitment and

retention, strategic planning, operational performance and

maximizing reimbursement by working with the Critical Access

Hospital Network and State Legislature to gain cost reimbursement

for Medicaid Outpatient services.

1993 - 2009 St. Joseph's Hospital, Breese Breese, IL

. Directed the Financial Operations of an 85 bed acute care hospital

with approximately $85 million in Annual Gross Revenues.

. Direct reporting Departments - Accounting, Business Office,

Registration, Information Systems, Materials Management and Plant

Operations.

. Hospital Performance resulted in an average Operating Margin of

10.5% or over $45 million in Net Operating Income for the last 16

years, while maintaining Net Days in Accounts Receivable at or

below 50 days.

. Hospital always managed to meet or exceed budgeted performance

targets each year.

. As a member Hospital Administrative Team, SJB scored the highest

employee opinion scores in the HSHS System, with very high patient

satisfaction scores and were recently ranked by Consumer Reports

as the number 2 Hospital in the State of Illinois.

. Successfully directed the conversion of the Hospital's main

computer systems - once for the financial systems, twice for

decision support software and twice for the Hospital's billing

system.

. Working with the IS staff, created successful interfaces to

physician office systems for electronically reporting lab results.

. With the assistance of Counsel, prepared, reviewed and monitored

all Physician Recruitment Agreements and Income Guarantees.

. Coordinated the successful acquisition of a large Rural Health

Clinic Physician Practice, working with counsel on acquisition

documents, physician employment agreements, creating wRVU

physician compensation models and integrating into the Hospital's

monthly reporting and accounting systems.

. Maintained favorable managed care contract terms with the

assistance of Managed Care Partners.

. Worked with Boyce and Associates and G2n on charge master

compliance issues to make sure that charges reflected correct CPT

and revenue codes.

. Prepared semi-monthly, monthly and annual financial statements and

narrative analysis for the HSHS Corporate Office as well as the

local Board of Directors and management staff of the Hospital.

. Prepared and monitored the hospital's annual budget process under

two different budgeting systems.

. Prepared all financial feasibility analysis and present value

analysis for equipment and other acquisitions.

. In coordination with the Human Resources department, developed

annual salary plans for the hospital from survey results.
