REGIONAL SERVICE MANAGER - Scope of duties consist of developing and

implementing operational strategies while simultaneously ensuring

protection of services by continuously optimizing driver positioning and

coordinating daily routing plans to address issues such as inclement

weather as well as the best mode of travel to meet service requirements.

> Charged with reducing due/late bills at the distribution center while

contributing to a higher level of service. Within a 2-week period,

achieved a 36% reduction that averaged 2,400 less due/late bills per day.

> 5 Hour & older loading trailers. Established and implemented strategic

plans that achieved 83% reduction within a 3-week period, thereby

reducing from 160 to 27 trailers while instituting continuous quality

improvement initiatives.

> Reduced linehaul expenses in 10 months, empty road miles as a percent of

total road miles from 9.8% to 9.1% for an annual savings of $698, 600.

> Improved in 3 months, driver utilization by reducing the number of tours

under 325 miles by 11%. As a result of new process, improved the

utilization of one-way trailers on designated lanes by 2%, improved

utilization of triples and LCV's on designated lanes by 1.5% and improved

utilization on dual use tractors by 14%.

> Collaborated with the planning and execution of YRC integration of Yellow

& Roadway creating one network and company. This integration is expected

to reduce linehaul costs by 7%, pick up costs by 5%, dock costs by 2% and

other areas of the operation by 11%.

BUSINESS MANAGER - Primary duties focused on evaluating the prior day's

operations report. Additionally, analyzed and managed operating costs

according to guidelines from monthly Profit &Loss reports and plans.

Charged with overseeing the day-to-day operations of 95-200 employees.

Served as HAZMAT responder with full authority to evaluate any questionable

package contents. Co-chaired the UPS Comprehensive Health & Safety Program.

> Implemented a comprehensive training program for new hires that focused

on documenting all aspects of training, follow-up, safety and

recognition. Achieved in 12 months a reduction in loss time accidents

from 39% to 16% from previous year.

> Directed and managed all operations, safety training/documentation,

regulatory compliance issues, and fulltime employees within the

distribution center. As a result, distribution center received a 98.2% on

> Implemented an ongoing plan to reduce misloads on PM operation. Provided

training, follow-up, recognition and held the group to accountable to

attain the desired results. Within 3 months, increased mislead frequency

from 1/2348 to 1/5690 and increased Time-N-Transit from 93.1% TO 97.8% on

time for all services.

> Directed and managed along with the automotive department the realignment

of higher MPG vehicles to higher mileage routes. This was a 3 month

project that reduced the amount of fuel used daily and saved $46,500 in

annual fuel costs
