Purchased all components for daily production of Corrugation Products sold
to the Office Supply Retail markets. The goal of this job was to get this
production location from a negative financial operating condition to a
profitable financial operating facility. This was accomplished by utilizing
excess raw materials that were on hand in production. Generating cost
reduction on high dollar procurement items that could be used in the month
purchased. Items that contributed to the financial turn around were new
pallet contracts, label supplier cost reductions based on higher production
runs. Acco Brands in Atlanta, Georgia achieved a positive financial status
and was sold to a competitor Fellowes in October 2006. The Atlanta
manufacturing operations was then relocated to a Fellowes facility outside
of Chicago, Illinois.

Schedule Daily Production and purchase all raw materials for Daily
Operations of Plastic Packaging Worked with the Maintenance Dept Manager to
schedule mold changes to maximize daily production and minimize mold
changes and machine down time. Finished products consisted of Blow Mold,
HDPE and Poly Propylene. While at Ropak, worked with plant manager to
reduce finished goods inventory below target of ten thousand man-hours.
Furthermore, working with shipping and production to increase the plant
sales and overall output of production hours to become the number two plant
out of 6 Ropak Packaging plants overall from being the least performer.
Lastly, managed raw materials inventory to not have any production down
time to outages.
2000-Feb. 2003 Senior Buyer, Coors Brewing Company
Elkton, Virginia
Purchased replacement parts for keg line, can lines, and bottle lines for
Shenandoah plant. Negotiated contracts and procured commodities required
supporting the manufacturing plant. Worked with the Integrated Supply Team
on cost reduction initiatives and asset care program. Documented $75,000 in
cost savings in fiscal year 2001. Documented savings for 2002 was
$1,250,632. $956,407 was generated from new recycling program. The balance
of savings was on packaging components that were switched to new suppliers.
1999-2000 Senior Buyer, McQuay International
Verona, Virginia
Managed 6 different commodities for two business units. Managed to reduce
inventory from $24 million to $13 million dollars. Assisted Materials
Department to cut lead times on certain commodities to assist the Marketing
Department to sell finished units to customers that demanded shorter
production lead times. The efforts by all departments resulted in McQuay
International to improve from $26 million dollar loss to 1.1 million dollar
profit for fiscal year 2000.
1998-1999 Senior Buyer, Thomas & Betts Corporation

Negotiated commodity contracts for copper, aluminum and steel. Resource raw
material, packaging and MRO services to cut cost according to corporate
cost cutting strategy. Worked with 5 planners to cut raw material inventory
from $14 million dollars to $9 million dollars. Was able to negotiate major
vendor payables from 30 days to 60 days.

Responsible for purchasing golf car, watercraft and ATV (All-Terrain
Vehicle) production parts. Parts consisted of aluminum die-castings,
stampings, machined parts, forgings, transaxles, plastic parts, seats and
stainless steel impellers. Managed Engineering revisions from drawing
release to supplier implementation on production parts. Resolved invoice
discrepancy pricing issues for my assigned suppliers. Accomplishments
included a supplier consolidation assignment resulting in a 4% procurement
cost savings. Administered localization program reducing imports from 70%
to 30%, which lowered vehicle cost and improved delivery schedules.
Improved Japanese team concept groups, i.e. "Just-in-Time" production
techniques, and continuous production improvement (Kaizen System).
1984-1988 Purchasing Agent/Operations Assistant, Lyndal Chemical

Purchased raw material for chemical manufacturing for two site plants.
Maintained sales inventory of finished goods for warehouses in Canada and
three locations in the United States. Reported to the Controller of this
diversified chemical manufacturer supplying the carpet, textile, fiberglass
and automotive tire industry. Accomplishments included a 7% reduction in
procurement cost by consolidating suppliers and major commodity contracts
to pass on savings to the Sales Department to allow an increase in overall
company sales volumes totaling $15 million dollars.
