NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS
. Consulted with Manuel American Designs, an iconic exclusive clothier and
fashion design company in Nashville, TN to develop strategic plans for
the international expansion of the Manuel brand resulting in record
growth in Q4 2009, a 42% reduction in operating expenses, a 17% increase
in gross profit and hired back all laid off workers.
. Managed a team of seven engineers for Caterpillar's Hydraulic Products
Div. in Joliet & Decatur, IL to develop new hydraulic systems for mining
trucks resulting in meeting all program deadlines (which were 3 months
behind schedule when the engagement started), and exceeding all cost and
quality expectations.
. Managed a team of six engineers to develop a complete locomotive engine
remanufacturing process and quality system including all process
documentation for Progress Rail in Mayfield, KY. Exceeded all
expectations in four months making the stringent deadline.
. Lead a team of twelve production & engineering personnel to develop an
assembly process for manufacturing check stripping machines for Check
Tech Financial Corp. in Santa Fe NM resulting in meeting all expectations
in five months, with an increase in output from 7 units per month to over
400 units per month while increasing gross profit margins by 12% and
significantly improving quality from nearly 100% to less than 2%
failures.
. Designed, developed and tested a high performance class "A" motor coach
based on a Kenworth T2000 truck platform from concept to production for
Touch Coach in Pecos, NM resulting in a high quality luxury coach
competitive with other Class "A" coaches retailing for 40% less while
maintaining a 60% gross profit margin.
. Managed a program and lead a team of 33 engineers and production
personnel to develop a significantly more efficient end of line quality
testing process for manufacturing V6 engines at the Ford's Lima and
Cleveland Engine II plants. All project objectives were met within a
challenging five month time frame and all project costs were about 5%
less than budgeted.
. Conducted all QS9000 certifications for Eaton Automotive Switch Division
on the first multiplex switch system for Chrysler. Qualified all first
articles and prepared PPAP submissions on all components, development and
implemented QS9000 quality systems for each supplier and the developed
and optimized Eaton's assembly process to meet QS9000 requirements and
aggressive quality and output goals by Chrysler.
. Managed the development and implementation of a fully automated processes
to manufacture children's vinyl swimming pools for Marchon Toy Co.
Designed a fully automated web guide system and RF welding assembly
process, and managed a team of 13 engineers, designers and production
technicians to develop and implement the system successfully. The new
system enabled Marchon to move manufacturing from China to the USA and
realize a 60% profit margin increase and quality improvement by reducing
defects from 35% to less than 1%.
. Started, owned and operated an engineering consulting firm (product
development, program management and manufacturing / quality systems
development), Progressive Results, Ltd, for nine years. Started and
owned two music studios and music production business for six years.
Sold all these businesses for a profit.
