Purchasing Agent/Materials Planner for a $40 million dollar Industrial Truck

Tarping Manufacturer with six remote locations throughout the US

1. Responsible for purchasing and procurement of all raw materials

required to produce finished product and customized products for

entire corporation.

2. Direct communication with in plant floor personnel to assure receipt

of goods and manage “just in time” inventory for immediate

production. Complied with Lean Manufacturing methods.

Responsible for inventory in excess of $10 million at all times, 10,000 make

and buy parts, 80,000 sq. ft. manufacturing warehouse and 30,000

sq. ft. metal fabrication warehouse. As well as 6 other remote

locations throughout the U.S., presenting total annual sales of $40

million.

1. Managed all production materials, receiving, quality control, testing

and shipping of an average of 120 orders daily.

2. Managed all bills of materials and negotiated freight contracts.

Responsible for all Vendor selections and negotiated contracts, while

establishing excellent corporate relationships with vendors.

Product Knowledge

Types of Materials needed for production and fabricated parts

Extensive knowledge of alloys and tempers of aluminum, grades of bolts, hot

rolled/cold rolled sheet steel, 1018 and 1045 steel bar stock, mild steel,pickled

and oiled, aluminum and steel angle and channel, sand castings, zinc die

castings and 301 stainless, aluminum and steel tubing. Related materials

associated with a variety of metal fabrication and machining.

Responsible for Purchase of all machinery and equipment required for

production in all facilities.

Purchased all punches, dyes, shear blades, press brakes, tubing benders, water

jet tables, plasma tables, CNC mills, milling centers, turning centers and mig

and tig welders. This includes all wear components for all machinery and

equipment.

Managed inventory identification and tracking system.

1. Utilized inventory accounting software: MAS 90 (initiated setup and

implemented in 2000)

2. Issued and held manual inventory records to compliment

computerized software

3. Managed quarterly inventory counts.

4. Participated in annual corporate audits of all materials.

5. Ran a “just in time” inventory with FIFO standards.

6. Consistently met 72 hour turnaround goal for 100% of shipments..

Responsible for accounts payable related to materials and equipment.

manner.
