Managing and overseeing the entire site preparation package .This
•
included the Excavation for the Coke Pit and Maize Pits that included
the installation of approximately 2000 Lin. Feet of 40 and 60 foot
long sheetpiling for the soil retention system. Then there was the
excavation and haul off of the balance of the Coker site prep materials
which was approximately 80000cubic yards and then the backfill and
compaction of an area that was approximately 500000 square feet
with subsequent Rapid Impact compaction. Then there was the
Excavation down to elevation 6 feet and the the Backfill in 8 inch lifts
with compaction to 95% modified proctor for the 3000 linear feet of
Heavy Haul Road that was part of the Coker Scope of work.Then for
all of this work I also had to install and operate a 24 hour a day 7 day
a week dewatering system that had to be constantly modified to take
care of the changing conditions caused by the weather and the
proximity to Lake Michigan. I also coordinated the removal of above
ground storage tanks and the associated piping and electrical duct
banks that supported the tanks. Then I coordinated the Excavation and
installation of the 20" Firewater loop around the Coker .then I
coordinated the installation of the underground electrical duct banks
for the Coker All this was in preparation for the installation of 5200
88' deep Auger Cast Piling and subsequent start of the Rebar and
Concrete .

Project Construction Superintendent
Responsibilities ( Civil Superintendent)
• Coordinate the activities of all the Crafts involved in the civil portion
of the assigned projects
• Requisition the necessary materials, tools and equipment needed to
perform the excavation, formwork, and rebar placement, anchor bolt
and concrete placing and finishing operations.
• Supervise the work through the General Foreman and Foremen for
each craft.
• Monitor productivity by comparing the installed quantities with the
budgeted man hour units.
• Monitor the project schedule to ensure that the civil work doesn’t
hinder the disciplines that are to follow.
• Constantly monitor and inspect the daily construction activities for
conformance to plans and specifications.
• Ensure that all assigned personnel follow the Safety and Health rules
established for the project.
Responsibilities (Project Construction Superintendent)
Coordinate the Construction activities of all the crafts on the project.

Supervise the daily operation through the respective Craft

Superintendents and field Engineering Group.
Coordinate the Project Administration,quality assurance, project

schedule and project cost and project engineering through the
respective managers and the Chief Construction Engineer.
Review all indirect material and equipment requisitions and pass them

along to the Resident Construction Manager.
Report any possible problems or delays to the Resident Construction

Manager and recommend remedial actions
Lead daily planning and scheduling meeting with the Project

Construction Team and discuss material and equipment needs, also
possible problems and delays and attempt to remediate ahead of time.
Also discuss any labor needs or problems.
Participate in the performance reviews of assigned personnel and

recommend raises and promotions and if necessary disciplinary
actions.
Take the lead in the implementation of the project safety and
•
environmental policies and procedures.
Monitor all activities to make sure these policies and procedures are
•
being followed.
Lead weekly safety meetings along with the Safety Manager.

Attend the weekly meeting with the Client and the home office project
•
management team and help the Resident Construction Manager
address any project issues that may arise.
