SOVEREIGN BANK, East Providence, RI 2005 to 2009

Service Delivery Manager- Network Services Group (2008 to 2009)

Selected to lead the reprioritization effort for the Operations teams and

to optimize the effectiveness of network services and project support for

the Bank's business units. Analyzed business cases, managed high-level

projects and established metrics including incident tracking, server uptime

and disk usage to meet / exceed assigned SLA's. Tracked and managed capital

and project expense budgets. Negotiated with vendors on pricing and

contract terms and conditions.

. Liaised with Legal to expedite data requests and restoration from

archives, thereby decreasing response time and improving operational

efficiency.

. Developed a solution to meet new regulatory (Sarbanes-Oxley)

requirements for off-site storage by evaluating, selecting and

implementing a tape encryption solution using Decru DataFort 520 and

1020 units; ensured all tapes sent off-site were encrypted and secure.

Developed strategic and tactical plans for the group consisting of 9 full-

time server support personnel and 3 contractors. Managed the operating

budget; developed, implemented and monitored compliance with technical

policy and procedures. Selected, trained and counseled the technical staff

to ensure capability scaled with business requirements. Responsible for

800+ Windows NT / 2000/ 2003 in an Active Directory environment and UNIX

/Linux / HP-UX application servers to support four primary data centers

located in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. Led the data

backup / restoration program and supported disaster recovery plans.

. Upgraded Corporate backup systems from Veritas Net Backup version

5.1.4 to version 6.0.6 and managed installation of new Sepaton S2100-

ES Virtual Tape Libraries at all 4 data centers; reduced backup

windows by 25%, doubled storage capacity and insured tapes were ready

for off-site storage daily.

. Drove creation of an RFP to select and implement new Enterprise-class

EMC DMX-4 SANs at two core data centers. Additionally, introduced a

new 150 TB HP EVA 8000 to the SAN environment to meet the evolving

needs of the business units and to increase performance specifically

SQL and Oracle databases.

. Saved $300K by renegotiating hardware and software contracts with Sun,

HP, Microsoft, Sepaton and Symark.

. Upgraded (DLT to LTO), installed and maintained HP Storage Works MSL

6000 Tape Libraries.

. Orchestrated installation and support for HP Insight Manager to

proactively monitor server environment.

IPS Global Network Services Manager (2003-2004)

Managed several technical disciplines to include Network (LAN/WAN),

Security, Telecommunications and Help Desk functions. Directed team of 17

network personnel chartered to evaluate, recommend, plan, design and

implement network improvements/expansions globally, reporting directly to

the VP IT. Administered network and telecom's $1.5M department budget.

Project-managed several network expansion projects which were consistently

completed on time and within budget. Set corporate standards and policies

related to data / voice infrastructure. Oversaw personnel functions

. Led the Hyderabad, India Development Center project. Managed the

implementation of the entire data and voice infrastructure for the

center, including working with local resources and 3rd party vendors for

. Managed the implementation of redundant Enterasys ER-16 Router in the

North American Data Center increasing uptime for SLA servers to 99.999%
