I have over 26 years of experience working in the corrections field.
I am currently employed by Corrections Corporation of America where I
am an Assistant Warden at the Adams County Correctional Center in
Natchez, Mississippi.
I was employed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons from February 1984
until my retirement from federal law enforcement service in February
2007. I had worked at various duty stations in many different
capacities. From July 1996 until my retirement, I had served the
Bureau of Prisons as an Associate Warden, having served in that
capacity at three different Federal Prison Facilities.

Assistant Warden
I have been responsible for planning, organizing and general oversight
for many aspects of the successful activation of a privatized
correctional facility which houses federal prisoners. I am assigned as
the Assistant Warden (Operations). I have organized programs,
operational needs and been involved with the hiring and training of
new employees. My responsibilities have also required me to provide
oversight and supervision for the inmate population assigned to this
facility.

Associate Warden
I planned, organized, supervised and evaluated all of the diversified
programs within that institution. I provided oversight for 13
departments, approximately 150 staff members, and 900 federal inmates.
I was responsible for exercising control and supervision of all the
various aspects of the FCI Safford. My position required for me to
possess a broad knowledge in supervisory and managerial policies
governing all areas of that facility. For over ten years, I was
charged with oversight responsibilities of multimillion dollar budgets
and large scale medical programs. From 1991 until my retirement, I
served the Bureau of Prisons as a Public Information Officer.

During my tenure at the MDC Brooklyn, I served as an Associate Warden
over the Programs Division and later, the Operations Division. MDC
Brooklyn was primarily a pre-trial detention facility. I was
responsible for oversight over numerous departments, within my
assigned divisions, to include care and custody of the inmate
population and supervision of those employees assigned to my
departments. Additionally, I served on the new MDC Brooklyn activation
team which began operations in 1999.

I served on the original executive staff at FCI Yazoo City. During
my tenure at that facility, we went through the activation process,
which included staffing, strategic planning, evaluating and ensuring
that the facility was properly equipped. I was assigned as Associate
Warden over Operations while at that facility. The activation process
included implementing strategic planning initiatives in order to
fulfill the activation mission.
OTHER EXPERIENCE:
From September 1988 until August 1990, I served the Bureau of Prisons
as an independent Disciplinary Hearing Officer in Marianna, Florida.
My duties included conducting impartial disciplinary hearings for
federal offenders who had been charged with violating Bureau of Prison
rules and regulations.
From August 1990 until October 1991, I was detailed to the United
States Parole Commission where I served as a Hearing Examiner. My
duties included conducting parole hearings for convicted offenders
serving sentences under the custody of the United States Attorney
General. It was my responsibility to thoroughly review cases and make
recommendations relative to parole and release dates.
