Summary of Qualifications:
Strong technical and statistical competence, with Process Engineering and
Project Management hands-on experience, organized and the ability to
effectively communicate with technical and non-technical personnel.
Extensive Project Management experience from scope definition to final
customer release. Projects are in statistical control at the sign off.
Programs: ERP (SAP and Maximo), Microsoft Office, Outlook, Firefox, SQL and
Excel (both for process monitoring), and Linked-In
Professional Experience:
Contract: Superior Technical Group, Webster, N.Y.
2007-2008
. Senior Project-Process Engineer at Xerox toner plant responsible for
implementing modifications to the toner process for improved yield,
quality, and run time.
Contract: Washington Group International, Webster, N.Y.
2006-2007
. Project Manager leading the installation of major capital projects at
the Xerox Campus. Projects included process equipment installation,
new site development, and utility upgrades, to specifying and
installing internal/external elevators at the Xerox Tower. Project
costs ranged from $.5 Million to $4.5Million with target dates of 6-36
months.
Contract: BE&K, Buffalo, NY
2005-2006
. Senior Design Engineer for the upgrade and expansion of the Tedlar
plant at E.I. DuPont, Buffalo, NY. Projects included solvent storage
expansion and solvent dispersion improvements of accuracy, rate, and
safety into the "reaction" vessels, safety and controls upgrades to
these vessels, extruder improvements, and Tedlar slitter "rolls"
resurfacing and slitter throughput increase.
Eastman Kodak and NexPress Solutions, Rochester, NY
1964- 2004
. Project Manager for the build and start-up of a surface treatment
facility including design and specification of equipment. Identified,
selected and implemented new manufacturing technology. Pre-tested
technologies in Germany. Prepared a vacant site by sizing and
installing utilities, safety venting, and structural loads. Managed
the design and construction, overseeing the team of client,
engineering, construction, and production personnel. Extensive design
reviews and drawing sign off kept Research and Manufacturing involved.
Successfully implemented, with a hands-on approach, the startup and
manufacturing process certification which was recognized as the
company's standard for highest operating equipment efficiencies. The
final process met six sigma guidelines and had best CpK of any toner
process. Final project cost under run the budget of $6.5 Million by
10% and was completed ahead of schedule.
. Supervising Engineer of Liquid Dispersion Manufacturing
Managed Liquid Dispersion Manufacturing Department with total
responsibility for quality, cost, scheduling, and supervision of the
technicians. Implemented SPC for all processes
. Process Engineer for the Toner Research Division.
Reviewed new processes with scientists and implemented them into
manufacturing.
. Process Engineer for Toner Manufacturing
Responsible for compounding and surface treatment processes to improve
quality, performance, and used process intensification for lower cost
products. After scope defined, options analyzed, and performance
standards set, managed the installation and start-up of an extruder,
project cost $3.2 Million, for toner making.
. Project Manager for the design, purchase, installation, and operation
of film slitter, perforator, and film finishing equipment. Managed new
build of clean-room facility for slitter process. Verified film
slitter performance in England before shipment to US site. Clean room
installation was from storage area requiring HVAC control, electrical,
lighting, venting standards, and change room facilities. Managed the
installation of the slitter meeting tolerances for performance.
Project cost of $5.5Million was met. Slitting process demonstrated
statistical control when released to operations.
:
. Assistant Manager for Fuser Roller Manufacturing Department with
responsibility for operations, technicians, quality, and processes.
Objectives included statistical process control, operator ownership,
and new processes advancement.
. Project Manager for the design and construction of a $12Million
manufacturing wing for toner making. Area adjacent to building was
excavated, foundation, drainage, and enclosure built with mezzanine.
Design to prevent dust explosion was critical. Structure is 200 feet
by 60 feet. Power was installed to house an additional 6 x 8000scfm
air compressors. Project cost was $4Million and met 2 year schedule.
. Process Engineer for the operation of six large air compressors.
Additional experience includes the supervision of a toxic environment area.
Initially project managed the
design, construction, and startup of this "controlled", toxic environment
area. The area had special equipment, services, HVAC, and safety guards.
Project cost was $4.2Million. Area was "show-cased" for safety features in
the Rochester community. After project completion, was appointed
Supervising Chemist of the area with responsibility to scale-up and
manufacture toxic film chemicals. As manager had responsibility for
technicians and chemists assigned to the area as well as budget,
scheduling, and quality.
