Graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in May 2010 with a Bachelor of
Arts in International Studies. My overall GPA was a 3.3 and within the International
Studies major my emphasis was on the European continent, specifically Eastern Europe
and Russia. My education included four semesters of the Russian language.
Honorably discharged from the United States Army in June 2006 (end of term) after five
years of service. I served two tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003-2004) and one
tour during Operation Enduring Freedom (2005-2006). Duties (4.5 years) included
extensive intelligence training and operations in various fields such as all-source,
HUMINT, IMINT, and GMTI.
Ideally I am looking to become a country or regional intelligence or imagery analyst, but
I am willing to start out in virtually any intelligence capacity that best fits my
qualifications or where I am needed. My greatest strengths are leadership and work ethic,
while an aspect of my capabilities I hope to further develop is my confidence in
delegating responsibility.
My experience in college was beneficial because I learned the diversity that exists
between civilian and military leadership while also obtaining a quality education that
focused on regional, political, economic, and cultural issues. I was a member of the Phi
Kappa Tau Fraternity from September 2006 to May 2010 and held nearly ever position,
including President (2008-2009). I am also a member of the National Scholars Honor
Society and Phi Alpha Theta (History) Honor Society.
The military provided me with the chance to conduct wartime intelligence operations
while I gained experience regarding life outside the United States and molded my
leadership abilities. I developed a strong work ethic early in life, as I served as a laborer
for my father's fence company during the summer months while in middle and high
school. The military helped to further develop my work ethic as well.
