OBJECTIVE
To seek a management position with an organization that can benefit from my experience in operations,
specifically manufacturing, supply chain, and quality management, with established operations and also start-
up companies
.
EXPERIENCE
Sept 09 – Feb 10 - INFINIA CORP KENNEWICK WA – CONSULTANT
Infinia is a design and manufacturing company of solar concentrators utilizing the
Stirling engine technology. To allow them to sell their product they must have it UL and
CE certified, as this is a technology still to be recognized by any safety authority, the
project will be challenging and time consuming, especially as the design is still evolving.
My prior experience in UL certification for solar concentrators at Energy Innovations will
assist Infinia in achieving this objective. Achievements to date have been a successful
field certification against UL 1741 of a custom Inverter at a test site in NM, allowing that
site to connect directly to the grid. Short term objectives are a factory certification at their
inverter manufacturer in CA, and a second test site field certification also in CA, against
UL 1741. Long term objective is a system certification against UL 2200. Achievements
were 1741 certification of the inverter, various field certifications for successful
connection to the grids, closed 100+ non-compliances for UL 2200 system certification,
and plans completed for CE self certification.
May 07 – Feb 09 – ENERGY INNOVATIONS (Idealab) PASADENA – Sr.
DIRECTOR OF MANUFACTURING & SUPPLY CHAIN
I joined E.I. at a point in their product development where their solar concentrator (Sunflower 3.0) was being
manufactured in China (pilot runs) and was encountering many technical, process, and cost challenges. I was
tasked with closing down operations in China, finding a domestic partner in CA, obtaining UL certification,
and determining if the product was in fact a viable business proposition. After 3 months of builds in CA, the
company decided to obsolete this version and develop Sunflower 4.0. My task for the 4.0 was to establish a
cost effective supply chain, develop a pilot manufacturing process in CA, and establish a tier 1 Contract
Manufacturing partner for volume builds. I achieved these goals recently, unfortunately the design was still
not meeting specifications, funding was becoming more difficult, and costs had to be reduced in order for the
company to survive.
Sept – 04 – May 07 – CLEARMESH INC (Idealab) PASADENA – DIRECTOR OF
OPERATIONS
I was tasked with setting up an operations team that could take a product from prototype stage to full volume
production initially in the US, and later in Asia. Within this scope was a requirement to set up world wide
relationships with suppliers and contract manufacturers, to select and install an ERP system, to select and
install a document control system, produce a full quality system in accordance with the ISO 9001-2000
requirements, audit and train suppliers on the Omnilux quality expectations, and develop an internal
production team\system that would ensure a sound reliable product prior to customer shipments. The
Omnilux product is a”last mile” FSO system, encompassing electronics, mechanicals, optical systems,
software & firmware, and plastic injection molding. Additionally we were required to develop specialized test
equipment for board level and system level testing. Company closed
Jun 00 – Sept 04 - GTRAN INC. CAL. DIRECTOR OF
OPERATIONS/DIRECTOR OF QUALITY ASSURANCE
I was tasked with setting up a complete manufacturing operation for producing 10Gbit optical transponders,
including the leasing of a building for operations. I set up an ISO 9001 compatible quality system; a web
based ERP system for material planning etc.; an ISO 9001 compatible document control system; a purchasing
department utilizing cost effective buying methods; a two shift production team consisting of assembly, test,
and packaging; and a manufacturing engineering department for developing process improvement methods.
My primary goal was also to build a sound relationship with at least two strong Contract manufacturers who
in time could become an extension of the GTRAN manufacturing capabilities. I also was tasked with making
many manufacturing presentations to GTRAN's prospective and current Tier One customers. This operation
has now successfully introduced 5 new designs into full manufacturing, taking them from prototype, through
pilot runs, and into volume builds with Contract Manufacturers, serving a world wide Tier one customer base.
For GTRAN I achieved preferred supplier status with Nortel, Siemens, and Marconi, and became ISO
certified, in addition to establishing an in house manufacturing operation to build and test the optical systems.
I was offered a promotional opportunity with Idealab.

Amplica is a manufacturer of MIC amplifiers and oscillators, and is owned by Charter Technologies. Due to a
recent corporate decision to reposition the business, I was tasked with closing the military business in Laguna

up date. I achieved production goals of 75,000 parts per week within the target of 1 year. Set up TQM teams
who were responsible for setting and achieving company goals. WIP inventory goal was achieved by use of
JIT and Kan Ban techniques. Also set up incentive programs for the company. Ceramaspeed is a manufacturer
of heater elements for ceramic top stoves. I later resigned to accept an opportunity in Southern California

revenue shipments at $1,000K. I had to work to MIL SPEC 883, using MRP, JIT, and SPC techniques to
schedule and control quality of product. Main area of achievement was to introduce linear shipments instead
of monthly, thus improving efficiency by 35%. Amplica was a member of the COMSAT group and a
manufacturer of LNA’s for the military market. I advanced to new position at PCO.
