Responsible for a 146 person, (reduced by 40% in Q1 2009), two-shift
manufacturing plant, producing low-volume, high-mix make-to-order linear
actuators, stepper motors, and custom ball screw/nut business for three
separate business units. Responsible for plant operations and driving P&L
results through the use of the Danaher Business Systems (DBS).
. On time delivery improvement from 87% to 95% to customer request date
and reduced past due from 1.3 days of to <0.3 days.
. Net inventory reduction of 53%, inventory accuracy improvement by 33%
through use of phantoms and cycle count process development while
increasing low cost region sourcing projects yielding in year PPV
savings of 7%.
. Successfully relocated two major stepper motor product lines into the
plant delivering 92% OTD and past due of <0.3 days within 60 days.
Continued improvement to 98% OTD and <0.1 days of past due within 120
days of relocation.
. Productivity improvement (DL spend to revenue) of 6% and warranty

manufacturing business. Three shift manufacturing plant producing high
mix, low volume make to order AC stepper, servo and DC brush motor
business. Used Toyota Production System based lean tools to drive
operational excellence, financial goals and support the voice of the
customer.
. Safety recordables reduced by 50% and warranty returns reduced from
13,540 to 3,000 DPM.
. Increased operational profit by 12.8% through aggressive cost reduction
projects focused on material, productivity / labor improvements,
variable manufacturing expenses as well as fixed expense reductions.

Responsible for leading Permanent Magnet DC motor business with a team of
74 direct employees, two manufacturing engineers, buyer / planner and
supervisor. Three shift operations and two major product lines of
vertically integrated manufacturing operation including machining,
painting, winding and assembly. Improvements driven through practice of
DBS lean manufacturing tools including value stream mapping (VSM), standard
work (SW), total productive maintenance (TPM), SMED, Danaher material
process (DMP) and 5s.
. Reduced past due backlog from 3.4 days to 0.2 days, increased on-time
delivery to 96%, reduced net inventory 38%.
. Successfully relocated major production line from Mexico to Illinois
record time including staffing and training of 50 new hire direct
labor employees. Production lines running within two weeks, full past
due recovery of $1.1 million in five weeks and OTD improvement from
82% to 94% in eight weeks; warranty claims reduced by 60%.
. Relocated sister company business to Rockford and then led plant
closure of small facility resulting in an annual cost reduction of
