The purpose of the File Inventory Management (FIS) project is

help TTSL track the inventory at various storage locations it moves from

the Warehouse to the Dealer and then to Subscriber and vice-versa. FIS

tracks the FWP movement from circle/Cluster warehouse to various agencies

as well as the activations, churns and the reverse flow of stock from

agencies to circle/cluster warehouses. FIS also tracks movement of stock

from warehouse to Authorized Service Center and Refurbishment agencies and

back to warehouse. Being a web based application it provides access to all

business users of the Tata Tele-Services across India, who use the system

for stock requisition, to view stock reports, acknowledge stock received,

transfer stock and submit retrieval information. Thus the system helps

track the status including location and condition of any FWP Instrument.

The FIS System has interface with Systems such as SAP, Tallyman, AIS,

Metasolv, CAP and POS which provide it the activation, stock transfer and

disconnection details of FWP Instruments.
