Objective:
To join a progressive, dynamic company and utilize my accredited Bachelor
of Science Degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering. Specifically by
designing efficient systems to improve the processes of manufacturing and
design through the utilization of my skills in LEAN systems and DFMA

Experience:
Taco-HVAC Inc - Industrial Engineer (Contract) (Cranston, RI) June
2010- Present
-Working under the head Industrial Engineer. Personally responsible for
data analysis organization for routing and Materials and Resources Planning
(MRP) systems (specifically SYMIX). Responsibilities also include
programming excel forms for an easier and more efficient user interface,
and working with AutoCAD and Solidworks drawings.
Vibco Co.- Capstone Senior Design Project (Kingston, RI) September 2009-
May2010
-Team project with a combination of Mechanical and Industrial Engineers.
Involved redesigning existing vibration devices and working together from
the design phase to prototype and production. Personal contributions
included effective DFMA analysis, designing new production methods,
detailed per-unit and total yearly costs for materials and production
(including detailed injection molding and metal extrusion costs), and step-
by-step collaborations with the engineering team for each decision in the
design process. Reduced cost by 28.7% ($15.02) per device, and the new
design is to be put into large-scale production.
AT Cross Company- Engineering and Marketing Intern (Lincoln, RI) May
2006-December 2006
-Worked under the head Machine Tooling and Manufacturing Manager. Was
personally responsible for categorizing every piece of machine tools in a
100 million dollar manufacturing facility. Prepared proper documentation
for shipment of machinery to China. Briefly learned how to run some of the
machinery. Completed the project ahead of schedule at 1/3 the amount of
time allotted as estimated by management.
J.Crew- Sales Associate, (Providence, RI)
October 2008- January 2009
-Worked as a personal sales associate, selling to individual clients and
customers on a commission-incentive basis. Regularly ranked among the top
sales per shift, and demonstrated excellent interpersonal and sales skills.
Target Corporation, (Seekonk, MA) July 2004-December 2004
-Worked as a salesman in the electronics department, cashier, and in sales
and returns department. Learned and demonstrated abilities in the many
aspects of a large retail company.
Eagles Outlet- Manager (Barrington, RI)
September 2002- May 2005
-Managed and ran the Eagles Outlet, the school store at Barrington High
School for two years. Managed Inventory, Scheduling, Payroll, store upkeep,
and several other duties required to run the store. Demonstrated excellent
management skills at a young age, in addition to learning the nuances of
running a profitable business.
Education:
University of Rhode Island September 2007-Present (Graduation May 2010)
Bachelor of Science, Industrial and Systems Engineering (Department of
Mechanical, Industrial and Systems Engineering). Studies included
production methods and efficiency, materials, statistics, linear
programming, and many other required fields for the major including
mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and
business. Also specialized courses in LEAN Manufacturing and Systems
Methods, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly, Operations Research,
Stochastic Dynamic Programming, Statistical Quality Control, and
Statistical Based Research Projects. Weighted GPA (both colleges): 2.86.

Engineering Major. Class study included Solid works and AutoCAD. Member of
the CCRI-URI SIAM Student Chapter (Society for Industrial and Applied

Barrington High School

-Senior Project choice was Civil Engineering, involving an internship at
the Rhode Island Department of Transportation. Tested asphalts for strength
and hardness working under the guidance of the Head Project Engineer.
Volunteer Work:
-Worked with special needs children at the YMCA swim program from March
2006 to June 2006.
-Worked with inner-city adolescents at a Youth Center as a math tutor and
other volunteering needs from July 2008 to March 2009.
Skills:
Excellent organizational skills with an innate ability to forge a consensus
while working with people who have passionate and diverse opinions. Skilled
at utilizing individual personalities and ideas to work cohesively in
forming a direction and plan in a team environment whether as team leader
or individual contributor.
Proficient in computer programs including all of Microsoft Office (Word,

Balancing, Cycle/Takt Times, MRP Systems, Value/Non-Value Adding Time, Time
Studies, and Cost Reduction Exercises. Experience in machine tooling shops,
and Industrial Optimization and Efficiency.
