Summary of Experience
My work experience includes conducting and implementing site
assessments and field investigations including drilling oversight,
lithologic logging, soil sampling, monitoring well installations, well
development, groundwater, and surface water sampling, and soil gas
surveys. In addition, I have experience in developing and tracking
budgets, scheduling tasks, coordinating with subcontractors and client
interactions. I have prepared many proposals and cost estimates as a
task order manager for geologic investigations.
I am knowledgeable in federal and state environmental regulations and
have prepared reports for site characterization studies, field
sampling plans, standard operating procedures, sampling and analysis
plans and closure reports.
Project Experience
Developed and prepared Work Plans, Field Sampling Plans and Standard
Operating Procedures for several environmental and hazardous waste
facilities located in the Western United States in accordance with
state and federal guidelines and statutes. Implemented and managed
field investigations as site manager. Evaluated soil and groundwater
conditions based on field and chemical analytical results, described
geological conditions, determined the nature and extent of
contamination, chemical fate and transport of chemicals, and prepared
technical reports for agency review. Completed projects on time and
under budget.
Managed and implemented several Underground Storage Tank (UST)
removals. Coordinated all subcontracts, budgets, and field logistics.
Collected soil and groundwater samples for chemical analyses and
prepared closure reports.
I have managed and conducted Phase II field investigations at leaking
UST facilities in Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. Specifically have
implemented field investigations designed to produce real-time
groundwater and soil chemical results in evaluating the nature and
extent of contamination. Project management responsibilities included
developing and tracking budgets, client contact, staff supervision,
interfacing with regulatory agencies and writing technical reports.
Conducted and implemented surface and subsurface soil sampling
programs including drilling oversight at several environmental and
hazardous waste sites. Specific projects include a Superfund Site in
Nebraska; nine electrical power substations located in Colorado,
Wyoming, Arizona, and Iowa; two Air Force Bases in New Mexico; a
compressor station in Wyoming; a mine in Arizona; a water storage
facility in Colorado, and a Water Treatment Facility in San Diego,
California.
Managed and implemented groundwater sampling investigations at several
environmental and hazardous waste facilities including two truck
company facilities in Colorado; a nuclear power plant in Colorado; a
RCRA facility in Colorado; Superfund sites in Nebraska, California,
Montana, and Washington; a power plant in Arizona; a chemical facility
in Oregon, and at a compressor station in North Texas. Drilled,
installed, developed, and sampled several monitoring wells. Evaluated
hydrogeological data, prepared water level contour maps, determined
flow rates, gradients and flow directions. Evaluated chemical data
and determined the extent of contamination and recommended further
investigations when necessary.
Geological Technician - Fina Oil and Chemical - Tyler, Texas
3/1987 - 12/1989
Assisted several geologists and geophysicists in the development of
oil and gas prospects by acquiring maps, well logs, preparing cross
sections and mapping out new well sites. Correlated well logs and
prepared proposals for management.
Geological Technician - McMurrey Oil and Gas - Tyler, Texas
4/1985 - 2/1987
Assisted several geologists in developing oil and gas prospects in the
East Texas Area. Prepared and drafted cross-sections and acquired
geological well log data. Prepared proposals for upper management.
