Community assistant position for the Residential Staff at the Center for
Bright Kids at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado. The CBK
Summer Programs offered rising 3rd through 11th graders the opportunity to
focus on one intensive course of study using a combination of enrichment,
acceleration, and compression models designed to intellectually challenge
very bright students. The main role of residential staff in these programs
was to develop the living community, provide structured, enthusiastic,
student-interest-driven recreational time for students, and offer social
and emotional support with some limited counseling during the course of the
program. As an RA, I was assigned a wing of 13 male students during the
11th grade program, and a wing of 13 male students during the 3rd grade
program.
Community Assistant, University of Redlands, Redlands, CA - 2007-2008
Community assistant position for the Residence Life staff at the University
of Redlands in Redlands, CA. Position was primarily an intensive leadership
role in greater dormitory and community environments. This position
required staff to live in residence at the University of Redlands among
enrolled students. Duties included, but were not limited to, the
maintenance of a staff members' appropriate floor or hall, facilitating
floor meetings, planning and coordinating educational and social
programming, working closely with staff and faculty, conscientious
contribution to protection and maintenance of the well being of the
community at large, counseling, CPR training, suicide prevention, and
maintenance of an empowered staff identity.
General laborer and fabricator, WCM and Associates Inc., San Bernardino, CA
- (Summer ) 2007 and 2008
General laborer and fabricator for large scale HVAC company located in San
Bernardino, CA. Position required the demolition and installation of
various sized air conditioning units. Often jobs were large school
district ventures in the higher and lower deserts consisting of multiple-
unit installations and custom fabrications. Duties required excelled
interpersonal relationship skills as well as an outstanding communication
aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a mature knowledge of power tools,
welding, copper brazing, heavy equipment/machinery, and Class B driving
experience.
Apprentice, Reliable Plumbing, Colton, CA- (Summer) 2006
Apprentice plumber for small-scale private contractor located in Colton,
CA. Position consisted of small scale and larger scale installations and
repairs of pipes and fittings, water supplies, sanitation, and heating
systems as well as custom fabrications. Company consisted of few members,
imparting an even greater value on team-work and interpersonal
relationships with employees.
Sales Clerk, Calimesa Tower Video, Yucaipa, CA - 2003-2005
Rental clerk for independent video store and local distributor located in
Yucaipa, CA. Position consisted of basic clerical duties and tasks, e.g.,
renting and selling videos/dvds, stocking movies, and basic cleaning and
upkeep of store environment as well as managerial duties such as ordering
movies, concession items, networking with other distributors, and payroll
preparations. Our staff was small, allowing for a healthy, spirited and
vital team dynamic.

- (Summer) 2005
Sales Clerk for the Barnes and Noble college division campus bookstore
located at the University of Redlands campus in Redlands, CA. Position
consisted of basic clerical duties, e.g., sales of clothing, food stuffs,
and textbooks, stocking of school supplies and textbooks, and PR with
textbook suppliers and greater Barnes and Noble offices as well as
warehouse duties primarily consisting of advanced shipping and receiving
duties.
