Qualification and Skills
. Knowledge of linear and generalized linear models, experimental design,
mixed effect model, multivariate analysis, survival analysis, Bayesian
analysis, machine learning;
. Monte-Carlo simulation, bootstrap, optimization and other statistical
computing techniques;
. Computer skills: R/S+, SAS, Excel, C++, SQL, Perl, Unix and Windows;
. Team work experience on course projects (such as time series with
missing data, ANOVA for sports anemia data) and independent research
experience.
Experience
. Research Assistant, Purdue University, Indiana June
2007-May 2008, May 2009- Current
. Built classifiers of gene expression microarray data for cancer
disease responses in bortezomib clinical trials using mixture model,
logistic regression, etc.
. Analyzed large human genomic single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP)
data in genome-wide association study using ANOVA and multiple
testing procedures such as FDR.
. Developed a new framework for direct statistical inference without
using prior distribution as in the case of Bayesian inference. The
resulting inference has desirable frequency properties.
. Proposed model of robust factor analysis using multivariate t-
distribution via EM-type algorithms and Gibbs sampling methods.
. Summer Intern, Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent, New Jersey
June 2008-Aug 2008
. Retrieved data using R/MySQL from large database collected from
Radio Network Controller (RNC) of CDMA2000 with the collaboration
of engineers
. Successfully identified potential predictors that may cause wireless
mobile session transfer failure using appropriate tree-based models
and logistic regression models
. Instructor, Purdue University, Indiana
Summer 2006
. Independently taught undergraduate level statistics course
. Responsibilities included lectures, exams preparations, homework
assignments, and computer labs
