ABOUT ME: I am 46 years old. I have been a general contractor fulltime for 10 years, part time for 25
years. I have been married for 27 years and have no children. I have friends who live in Nashville and I
am looking to relocate to the Nashville area in the very near future. I decided a few years ago to make a
change in my life and go back to school and get the degree that I always wanted. I am very familiar with
computer technology and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. I had a temporary
job as a State Police Dispatcher in 2002 and am familiar with the use of signal and ten codes and chain of
command. My years as a general contractor have helped me develop some key skills in regards to dealing
with the public in general. They have also taught me time management, scheduling, professionalism, and
the ability to relegate responsibilities. I have a spotless criminal record and I have no drug or alcohol
problems. I am more than willing to submit to a background check and drug testing.
I have researched the Tennessee State certification and licensing requirements for armed and unarmed
security professionals and I am making plans to obtain the necessary certifications and licenses. I am
currently enrolled in fulltime classes online at Strayer University in Lexington Kentucky and have been
since summer of 2008. My major is Criminal Justice, with a minor in Homeland Security and Technology.
I have a GPA of 3.06 with 72 credit hours.
OBJECTIVE: I am looking for full time employment in the security/protective service field in the
Nashville area. I am interested in investigations and looking forward to an entry level position in order to
gain all the experience possible. I am interested in learning every possible aspect of security and the
protective services field.
