Lycoming to include a completely new customer services Division. He created
and implemented, from Greenfield and a zero base, the major multi-million
dollar subsidiary that handled the complete after sales and product support
required for both commercial and military clients. This new Maintenance

Latin America, the Middle East and the United States.

Transport Aircraft, thousands of skilled personnel and hundreds of millions
of dollars in assets and working capital with what was then the Largest
Airline in the free world, United Air Lines.
Rising to the senior Director level of United Air Lines Maintenance
Operations Center (MOC), he was responsible for the Maintenance, Repair and
Overhaul of United's jet Aircraft Engines, APU's and Components. Mr.
Shaffer was also responsible for United's Sales and Marketing of the MOC's
Aircraft, Engine and Components Outside Sales function, which he organized
to take from approximately 8 Million in sales annually to approximately 150
Million in sales annually
His line production responsibilities included management of over 2200
Direct and Indirect employees plus 200 management and staff personnel. His

THIS COVER LETTER AND THE OTHER 2 RESUME'S ARE FOR THE ESTATE HOUSEHOLD
MANAGERS (HOUSEMAN/HOUSEWOMAN) OPENING AT LA JOLLA, CALIF. POSTED BY
"INDEED" JOB #51597. I WAS NOTIFIED TO GO TO RESUMEBOOK360 AND APPLY.
COVER LETTER
9/12/2010
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Owner:
My wife and I are in receipt of your "Search" for an experienced, highly
competent and detail oriented, "Estate Domestic Couple" to manage your
estate in La Jolla California. We would like you to consider that we are
the Estate Household Managers (Houseman and Housewomen) that you are
seeking.
Please see included in this communication, both of our Management Profiles.
These profiles were developed for Aviation & Aerospace Management as a
business BIO, to be given to perspective clients, as a way to introduce the
Management of the company. I felt it important that you should know of our
business management background as it should give you a good idea of our
management acumen as we work with you, your family, your guests, your home
and all of your property that would be entrusted in us. It is important to
us that you understand that we truly realize the significant level of
reliance and trust that both of you must place in those individuals that
you hire as estate managers (a houseman and a housewoman).
Profiles and resumes' are not structured to give notice to working two
jobs when you first start out on your career. The second job is always
overlooked and credence is only given to the primary job. I started my
aviation career working for United Air Lines and I worked a second Job
managing the "Mary Avenue Apartments"( an upscale, 120 Apartment, Complex
located in Sunnyvale, California) for 7 years. Trisha took care of the
office requirements and I took care of all of the interior and exterior
maintenance, which included plumbing, electrical, heating, Air
conditioning, lighting, landscape grooming, vendor interface, pool and gym
servicing requirements and other duties as required. Both Trisha and I
developed a very effective "schedule of required activities" and we
learned, very quickly, how to be a very effective property management team.
When we bought our first home, my "handyman" experience "came home to
roost", as I was able to fix almost everything and needed very few outside
contractors . This "handyman" ability continues on to today.
In 1986 we purchased a 3 acre plot of land in Concord, Massachusetts and
had a 11,000 sq. ft home(we called it "TARA" as it had the appearance of
the "gone with the wind home") constructed on the property. We had an
extra large back patio, large pool, Tennis court, fully equipped gym, sauna
cottage, pool house and in the rear area of the property we had a large
heated green house (for our winter plantings) and outside space for a nice
automated spring, summer and fall garden. Our total property was designed
and landscaped with trails leading to each activity. It was a beautiful
place to raise our children and to entertain clients, guests and close
friends. Trisha served as homemaker, housekeeper, mother, wife, friend &
informal hostess and formal hostess (when we entertained people of
distinction, International or National, or when we just wanted a formal
dinner to celebrate a family member or friend). Our home was always spic
and span clean, organized (not to a fault, just efficient) and child,
school age friendly.
We lived in Concord for approximately 12 years before moving to Florida.
We hosted many committee meeting and many other causes at our home with
attendance from 8 to approximately 125 people. All meetings, gatherings,
entertainment, formal and informal luncheons and Dinners were a success as
we looked forward to inviting clients, friends and associates to our home.
Having chosen (years ago), "Aviation" as a career field and Having suffered
through the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the resultant down turn in Aviation
which lasted 5 years, we moved to Palm Beach Gardens into a rental. We
planned to stay in a rental for 1 year before buying.
We are now going into the end of the 5th year renting and the economy still
hasn't rebounded. We therefore closed our company in July and have just
made a decision to offer our personal services to "Estate Management".
Trisha found your advertisement for an Estate Household Manager
(Houseman/Housewoman) this last weekend and we feel very strongly that we
meet your expectations. We agree with your "Objective" and could not have
written it any better or more precise. We lived in California for many
years and know very well that La-Jolla, is a beautiful place to live. Your
list of "qualifications and character" requirements are well thought out
and very acceptable. We also agree with "Couple's Responsibilities: (
Both, Him and Her). You have scoped your expectations exceptionally well
and it reads like it is a product of many family meetings with input from
everyone: Father, Mother, Children and Office team. Trisha and I both
agree, 100 % with each and every line item.
We are very interested in meeting you and discussing any other item of
interest that you may have. We look forward to the scheduling of a
personal interview.
"People are not the best because they work hard. They work hard because
they are the best".
Sincerely,
Trisha and John Shaffer, Phone # 407-***-****
