Rapid Cycle Patient Flow Optimization Project

. Observed and simulated with Excel the whole patients flow process in
Rardin Family Care clinic. Built up the implementation plan of rapid
cycle that can reduce the patients wait time more than 45%.
. Through comparing the actual data from IT group and simulation result,
found out the opportunities to improve the intervention of rapid cycle
plan.
. Developed Excel simulation to generate new wave scheduling for the
clinic. 25-30% more patients will be seen with new scheduling. The new
scheduling will be a pilot for Rardin clinic and later on applied
globally to all the other branches of medical center in order to
reduce the general patients wait-too-long problem.
Optimization of Patients Flow in JamesCare Clinic

. Developed simulation model using ExtendSim of patients flow in
Chemotherapy and Medical Oncology department.
. Conducted time study and collected real data from observing all
clinical staff behavior and built up database using Access to store
and manage the data. Did data analysis to find out the opportunity to
reduce staff overload works and reassign to optimize the whole patient
flow.
5S supplies inventory control and layout optimization project The

. Rearrange the layout of certain clean room for supplies stock and made
it more convenient to be accessed and more efficient to manage.
. Reduced the inventory level by 30% using JIT system and seasonal
forecasting. Potential 40% reduction of inventory will be happening
after apply the Kanban system recommended. Saved more than 25% of the
total inventory holding cost.

Tween brands Company Shipping Process Evaluation

. Utilized Arena software to simulate the whole shipping process of
Tween Brands from international suppliers to DC in Ohio and secured
the specific numbers of trailers from the simulation model for company
to use in new shipping process.
. Analyzed the cost savings for company based on the simulation model,
which resulted in a cost savings of more than one million dollars per
year.
Whirlpool Company Logistics Metric Development

. Developed a real time metric system to measure on time performance of
truck deliveries to and from the plant of Whirlpool.
. Managed MS Access based system with the database rooted in a central
server providing real time access to the daily movements' data and
metrics at each process steps. So significantly increased the accuracy
of measurements by 15% and reduced the delay time of performance
measurements for about 20%.
