Objective:

Chemical Engineer seeking full time position in quality, laboratory, coating manufacturing or any related

fields. Experienced in coating applications (conversion coating, plating, and painting), process set up,

specifications and QMS. Making reports in the areas of quality, lab and environmental compliance.

Operating laboratory equipment and calibrations, recording and analyzing data.

Qualifications:

• Experienced professional, able to set up and approve activities in QMS compliance and QC

operations.

• Experience with Automotive OEM material specifications

• Experience in APQP, PPAP, CQI-12, customer specifications (GM, Ford, Chrysler, other), prints,

IMDS system, TS16949 and environmental compliance

• Able to collect and analyze data, make reports, strong knowledge in ISO9001

• Experienced in coating processes as: phosphating, painting (chain on edge, dip-spin, spray, and

tumble), and plating.

• Familiar with testing methods as chemical analysis, pH, viscosity, film thickness, salt spray test

• Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook

• Green Belt Certified

Skills

Quality:

• Develop, implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan to bring Company's Quality

System and Policies into compliance with QS requirements.

• Lead continual improvement efforts and cost of poor quality reductions through the use of failure

mode analysis (FEMA), sigma logic data analysis, and process control

• Perform Quality Audits to insure the integrity of the quality system, implement and maintain of all

quality programs.

• Develop APQP and PPAP, process capability study, corrective/preventive actions, customer complaints, and

nonconforming product control.

• Conduct CQI-12 Coating Process Self Assessment to provide continual improvement, defect

prevention, waste reduction.

• Analyze costumer complaints, internal reworks, audit reports, raw materials and all process

characteristics and develop action plan to reduce the quality cost.

• Report essential data for top management review.

• Improve processes, reduce cost

• Testing and control of raw materials and finished product quality, ensuring compliance with

company standards and applicable government regulations

• Conduct quality inspections across the production area

Laboratory:

• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance to standards and specifications.

• Perform lab analysis as titration, pH, density, viscosity, mass weight, trials and other lab

procedures relating to the manufacturing of specialty chemicals in a laboratory environment.

• Prepare and evaluate panels (appearance, adhesion, humidity, and salt spray)

• Create and/or follow lab procedures and vendors instructions regarding usage, application and

test methods of raw materials (chemicals, paints, solvents) and final product.

• Perform and evaluate salt spray test (Autotech Chamber). Prepare salt mixture and monitor

chamber parameters.

• Maintains all reagents and laboratory equipment. Inventories and orders necessary supplies.

• Record all results in database and create spreadsheets

• Records, inspect and approve all raw materials necessary in production

• Document and communicate test results to appropriate departments. Prepare technical reports

including charts, tables, and graphs

• Set up, adjust, calibrate, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments needed for

tests, research, or process control. Maintain up to date calibration records.

Coating Applications:

• Design, manufacture and monitor and control cost- effective products

• Collect, analyze, summarize, and interpret data to develop cost savings

• Create manufacturing work instructions to outline the steps and conditions to complete the

application process.

• Provide engineering applications support to production line to meet the company goals and

customers satisfaction.

• Processing and evaluating coatings applied to metal and non metal surfaces. Familiarity with

coatings for friction, wear and corrosion resistance.

• Identify opportunities to improve operations by reducing cost, reducing energy usage, reducing

cycle time and process waste, improve quality.

• Enter coating application data in IMDS system

• Analyze technical aspect involved in the application processes (raw materials, process

characteristics, equipment, packaging)

Environment:

• Familiar with VOC Tracker System.

• Maintain records conduct audits and submit reports to DEQ (MAERS, TRI-MI, SARA Title III Tier

II, Wastewater and Stormwater).

• Certified Stormwater Operator.

Computer:

• Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook
