GOAL: DELIVERY DRIVER - CEDAR RAPIDS
SKILLS: On access.bridges.com, a work assessment company, scored extremely high on
"relationships" and "achievement" - a team player willing to work. Have (always) done well with
customer satisfaction, a (strong) point of mine, and been consistently in the top third in auto
sales. Auto sales was fast paced, highly prioritized, frequently stressful, and negotiation based.
Familiar with computers, accounting, and have a chauffeur's license. Great working with numbers
and people. Graduate of The University of Iowa.
EXPERIENCE: 12 years in auto sales (2 years as finance manager) required listening, being a
detective and counseling, negotiating during stressful situations, phone work, accounts and
billing, and serving customers with effective written and oral communication. Flexible to work the
hours required and am very interested in having you call me for your delivery position!
WORK HISTORY:
* 7/08-10/08 Buick GMC Cadillac Of North Cedar Rapids (393-3300). Auto sales. Sold cars
very briefly. Car sales were temporarily slower and it didn't work out, unfortunately.
* 9/01-7/08 Traded a stock account with limited results. This entailed many hours to do an
adequate job at learning it, eventually seeking a return to outside employment.
* 1/98-9/01 RR Donnelley, Iowa City (351-3530). Forms design and proofreading by
computer to set up printing jobs. Terminated by RR Donnelley (Moore North America then) as
they proceeded to layoff during a slowdown starting after September 2001. This job entailed great
attention to detail and skill, and a job I enjoyed very much.
* 5/97-1/98 Hargrave Mceleney, Iowa City (354-1011). Auto sales. Successfully sold cars to
the general buying public. Left on good terms after 12 years in the business to try something
other than auto sales and went to Moore printing to use some of my training.
* 11/96-5/97 Cassill Motors, Cedar Rapids (396-2698). Finance manager at an auto
dealership. For a short while tried my hand as finance manager in the business office as it was a
promotion. It was quasi-sales and I failed to sell the warranties and insurances in sufficient
quantities. Left on very good terms with Cassill to go to Hargrave Mceleney in Iowa City for a
sales position. It was a very good learning experience, however.
* 2/91-11/96 1st Avenue Chrysler-Plymouth, Cedar Rapids (out of business). Auto sales. Sold
cars to the general public. A good place to work. Left them after approximately 6 years to take the
position as finance manager at Cassill Motors, as it was a promotion.
* 7/89-2/91 Rapids Chevrolet, Cedar Rapids (out of business). Auto sales and leasing.
Started in sales, then was promoted to finance manager. Was finance manager until the sale and
closing of the dealership. The owner, Bill Fletcher, was a fabulous man to work for. He fostered a
friendly team environment.
PRODUCTION EXPERIENCE:
In high school took courses in shop, metal working, wiring, printing and screening. Over time
have done light mechanical repair on my own cars.
While in college, worked part-time for the U.S. Post Office on mail sorters, and 5 years at
Wilson Foods Meatpacking (2 1/2 years full time with over 1 year night sanitation). On sanitation
was awarded the nickname of "flash", as I had to work so quickly when production worked late.
