. Worked for two years and gained proficiencies in a certified
microbiology laboratory. Duties included field testing and collecting
water samples from the city distribution system and water/wastewater
treatment plants, and transporting those samples to the laboratory.
Once at the laboratory, duties included independently setting up
samples for colilert presence/absence testing (E. Coli), fecal
coliforms, and simplates (total coliforms). This required following
SOPs and GLP, logging in samples in a regulatory compliance log book,
and LIMS data entry. Facilitated communications between other
departments and laboratory staff, and participated in routine customer
service including responding to complaints and informing the public
regarding laboratory operations.
