PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
Black & Decker
Jackson, TN 11/04 to Present
Engineering Systems/Documentation Manager
After the acquisition by Black & Decker there was a major need to
consolidate process and solutions globally throughout engineering. I
introduced Windchill to the organization which spawned a 4 month
investigation concluding the purchase of Windchill ProjectLink and PDMlink.
Included with my current responsibilities were shared system and business
administration responsibilities for Windchill. This project spanned 3
years with over 1300 global customers. I have a team of 5 resources
dedicated to 2 US and 2 Asia based businesses. I am also responsible for
the collection and interrogation/migration of documents and information
regarding our Asian facilities. Regarding the Windchill project we are
implementing PDMlink, ProjectLink, PartsLink, ESI and custom reports. I
performed sustaining engineering duties along with value improvement
changes to product using Pro/E and Catia. I performed and organized
training for Windchill PDMlink and Pro/E products globally. I am a working
manager; my responsibilities also include the installation of all
engineering applications along with support. Remote support is a vital
part of my position. We have 13 manufacturing facilities along with 10
design centers globally. I have experience with Oracle installation and
configuration and a very strong knowledge of engineering processes.
Pentair Tools Group.
Jackson, TN 11/99 to 11/04
Senior Systems Engineering Manager
Responsible for the management and continual improvement of Engineering
software and processes. My position has encompassed the entire Pentair
Tools Group engineering environment, which includes Porter-Cable, Delta,
Devilbiss and Oldham Saw and our Asian businesses in Taiwan and China.
This new career plan was developed due to the Devilbiss Air Power Company's
acquisition by the Pentair Tools Group. I am also involved with one of our
company key objectives to introduce 6Sigma Lean Manufacturing. I was on a
team responsible for introducing a new MRP system to help centralize our
data structure across the entire tools group. I worked very closely with
our Information Technology group to determine the needs of our engineering
group as a whole. In this role I reported directly to the VP of
Engineering. This role has given me the power to help build an environment
using the skills that I have obtained throughout my career. I also
continued to work with Pro/E regarding the sustaining and maintenance of
Product Data. I introduced Windchill ProjectLink as a global communication
tool and data storage.
DeVilbiss Air Power Co.
Jackson, TN 10/89 to 11/99
Project Manager
Responsible for monitoring and supporting research prototyping. Duties
also include development of Company wide data management system. I am part
of a team devoted to achieving an electronic document management system
that can mainstream the product development cycle and reduce time to market
for new products. I was solely responsible for organizing the Engineering
CAD data management system parallel to monitoring and developing programs
to aid in product design.
Design Engineer
Responsible for the innovation of new designs separated from the product
development group. Projects include Pressure Washer design from the ground
up, high level technological compressor design that is completely adverse
from any concept existing today. We manufactured in house all prototype
parts with the aid of CNC machining using the cad tools of PRO/E 3D design.
Also responsible for the implementation of a Product Data Management
software to mainstream our paperless system.

Murry Outdoor Products (Noma)
Jackson, TN 3/89 to 10/89
Product Designer
Responsible for solving design problems using cad layouts for riding lawn
mowers and other outdoor products. Produced 2D drawings involving steel
stamping, plastic molded parts, and intricate assemblies. Extensive work
with new product lines requiring many detailed layouts. I spent an
extensive amount of time working on new stamped deck frames for riding lawn
mowers. This job was very interested due to the nature of the amount of
different parts relative to the product.
(Manufacture consumer lawn mowers and outdoor products)
INTERNATIONAL TELECOM AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS (ITT)
Corinth, MS 5/86 to 10/86
As the foundation of my work experience, ITT gave me the opportunity to
create working drawings from sketches and concepts. Engineering change
orders allowed me to observe how the design process evolves. Drawings were
created on board using ink and mylar. This was my first exposure to the
engineering and manufacturing relationship and how to think about the
design process.
(Manufactured telephones and communication devices.)
