Background Summary
My career has spanned more than three decades in the construction industry. During my 33 years in the industry, I have
successfully completed well over $500 million in contracts. These contracts were in retail, commercial office, banking,
hospitality, medical, and the local and Federal government industries. This wide variety of projects has produced a
well-rounded manager that understands clearly the need for a quality product for the Owner, balanced with the
available funds and time constraints for individual projects. My organizational, and computer skills are excellent, as
they must be for successful completion of complex projects. Also I am very well versed in CPM scheduling utilizing
Microsoft Project, and Suretrack programs. I am somewhat familiar with Primavera. Negotiating agreements and
change orders without conflict is another critical skill I possess. I have also presided over presentations to private, city,
and Federal GSA project teams to indicate our understanding of the RFP developed.
Professional Background
Senior Project Manager 2005 to 2010
Jamail & Smith Construction
Austin, Texas
• As Senior Project Manager, I was assigned complex projects including two Nursing Homes, and two branch
libraries for the city of Austin. All were high profile and high quality projects requiring close coordination
and attention to submittals and constructability reviews to limit disruption to the tight schedules determined
by the Owners. These projects required weekly updates to the CPM schedules to insure milestones set could
and would be met, and daily quality reviews as well as safety audits for City ROCIP requirements. We never
had a safety problem with the City of Austin.
