Create and develop Probation Department functions,

infrastructure, programs, policy and procedures. Develop

and implement effective programs that will aid offenders

and their families in development and rehabilitation.

Provide support, preventive and supervisory counseling to

all offenders as applicable for individuals placed on

probation by Court order. Conduct intake interviews to

recommend appropriate supervision for adult and juvenile

offenders. Supervises youth in placement, conducts field

intakes. Complete investigations as required by the Tribal

Court and submit written reports as to the findings of

those investigations in accordance with the Pokagon Band

Tribal Code. Monitor compliance of juvenile and adult

offenders participating in a court ordered probation and

other programs, and collect urine samples and PBT's for

drug and alcohol screening. Schedule case review hearings

for juvenile and adult offenders and advise the Court of

the probationers efforts to comply with the Court's

dispositional orders. Make recommendations regarding the

detention of juveniles based on criteria provided in the

Pokagon Band Juvenile Code. Appear in court and testify

for detention, emergency placement, disposition,

revocation, certification, and determinate sentence

hearings. Inform offenders and their families about the

cost, constraints, and responsibilities of maintaining

electronic monitoring equipment. Provide installations

services in the offenders' home, communicate with the

electronic monitoring equipment agency, and assist law

enforcement in monitoring the actions of the offender, and

assume the position of "Designated Court Officer" in

emergency situations.
