ULMA Packaging Systems is a global manufacturer and supplier of automatic packaging machines to the food and non
food industry. The company is head quartered in Spain. The USA subsidiary based in GA no longer exists due to a
recent merger with Harpak Inc.
Divisional Manager Western Division, Tracy, California, USA Jan. 2007 – June 2010
Transferred to the subsidiary in the USA to be responsible for aspects relating to the machine sales, technical service
and P&L management throughout the Western Division (WA, OR, CA, AZ, CO, NV, HI, UT).
• Increased machine sales from $1.0m to $2.5m in 2 years by establishing and servicing new customer
relationships.
• Recruited and supervised Los Angeles based Service Technician and Regional Sales Manager.
• Held full P&L and financial reporting responsibility and constructed and presented annual Sales and
Expenditure forecasts for board approval.

Appointed to establish a wholly owned subsidiary in South Africa thereby introducing the company’s product range
of automated packaging systems to the food and non food sector in South Africa and ultimately throughout the
Southern African continent.
• Established, implemented and directed the subsidiary by securing offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and
Durban as well as appointing the necessary sales, service and administration staff (15 in total).
• Supervised and was eventually responsible for 6 Sales Team members, a Service Manager and 4 Service
Technicians as well as Administrative Staff in 3 locations.
• Prepared and reported typical sales and P&L management information on a monthly basis, thereby
informing the board of directors of the subsidiary’s performance and profitability.
• Initiated a sales and marketing strategy and grew sales from zero to $3.5m within the first 4 years.
• Developed customer relations in order to create customer confidence.
• Identified and attended various trade shows and developed other key marketing areas in order to grow brand
awareness.
• Undertook extensive local and international travel with customers in order to demonstrate machine models
