Riverside Regional Medical Center, Cytology/Histology Prep Tech (12/08 to
08/10)
Duties: Under the direction of the Anatomic Pathology Department Executive
Secretary and Pathologist Assistant, receive, register and accession
surgical specimens. Prepare specimens for gross examination by Pathologist
and Pathologist Assistant and assists them with grossing procedures as
needed. Provide clerical support to Pathologist Assistant, assist with
specimen pick-up from operating room, ordering supplies and maintenance of
inventory. File pathology requisitions, cell blocks and slides. Also,
responsible for keeping grossing room clean and arranging disposal of
grossed specimens. Serves as a backup for transcription and typing of
anatomic pathology reports and submission of those reports. Also, assist
in resolving insurance billing issues.
Sentara Leigh Hospital, Flex Administrative Associate - Ortho/Neuro
Surgical Unit (10/09 to 09/10) Duties: Triage patient, internal and
external calls. Order supplies. Initiate maintenance requests. Organize
nurses stations to include stocking copiers, refrigerators and recording
temperatures. Also, organize Dictation Room and maintain patient files.
Assist Charge Nurse with staff assignments, patient admissions and
discharges as well as provide clerical support to staff as necessary.

Duties: Performed data entry and clerical duties which include test
requesting, patient registration and verifying alpha and numeric data using
the HIS and LIS computer systems, diagnosis coding, insurance billing,
sorting and processing mail and faxes. Responsible for logging, filing and
