Bax Global, O’Hare, IL
10/11/01 – 11/30/05
I began working as a dockhand part time for the first six months. The responsibilities
included: operation of forklift, loading trucks, breakdown of import freight, labeling, and
scanning of freight. I was promoted to the office full time where I began my training to
become a certified dangerous goods specialist through the Bureau of Dangerous Goods. I
was trained to use the Argus system and Lotus Notes. My duties in the office included:
Break bulk coordinator, processing hazardous materials shipments, opening import files,
tracking and tracing of lost freight, submitting bonded shipments to U.S. Customs for
authorization of movement, updated warehouse transfers and trucker pickups, processed
preliminary claims for missing and damaged shipments, and updating arrival times and
exception codes for our company website. In October 2004, I was promoted to Service
Supervisor for the Import Breakbulk Dept. My duties then included supervision of dock
package handlers, cartage carriers, and office personnel. While running an operation on
the floor I would designate which drivers will go to recover our freight from various airlines.
This is determined by which freight will sit on our floor for the least amount of time. My
experiences with Bax Global have prompted me to learn that I am capable of training for
new experiences and doing so in a fast paced industry that is growing rapidly. Relevant
