Supervisor October 2007 - February 2009
Worked with another unit supervisor managing the staff and workflow of a
three shift operation accountable for providing sterile, complete surgical
sets. Responsibilities included but not limited to; working with doctors
and operating room staff to resolve issues, providing daily staffing
assignments, identifying improvement opportunities, on-call duties, taking
care of the needs of all operating room units in four hospitals on the
university grounds, and employee training.
. Hired based on my Lean Sigma Greenbelt and practical experience with
process and workflow improvements. Obtained on-the-job training to learn
department specific tasks.
. Facilitated department leads to create standard work instructions for
the six major functions within the unit.

building security for weekend closure. Drove data collection and analysis

included quality checks, mailing prep, packaging, and mailroom delivery

. 1987-1990 promoted to a Bindery machinist: Duties included; Running
Bielomatic binding machine, various industrial cutters, Heidlberg
binding machines, job ticket and order management, manage work by date
or priority process, and delivery to mailout.
. 1990-1991 was promoted to Pressline Assistant. Responsibilities
included; ensuring stock was delivered to ten press operators based on
order identification, worked with warehouse to maintain stock at par
levels, worked with laser department when new need printing plates were
needed, ensured ink and other press materials were maintained and
assisted with daily paperwork.
. 1991-1993 Promoted to a press operator. Ran a Heidlberg 1 color press.
Responsibilities included quality checks of my work, maintenance and
troubleshooting of machine problems, accurate readability levels of
magnetic ink. Was one of the top 5 press operators throughout the
company branches in the nation.
. 1993-1994 Promoted to Pressline Lead. Accountable to continue running a
press as well as assist the supervisor with workflow and staffing
management, daily paperwork. Performed the role of supervisor when the
supervisor was absent from the workplace.
