In my adult working life I have had three major careers. The first was the
U.S. Navy from which I retired. The second was being an Ordained Pastor for
various local churches in several states. My last carrier was with Saturn
of Rockford, which is now out of business.
Over the years I have developed several skills that have become my
strengths. The understanding that management, counseling, organization, and
attention to detail go hand in hand with being reliable, dependable, and
having the ability to facilitate communication between people and groups.
These I feel are the foundation of any well-run organization and have used
them for most of my working life.
I try to utilize my understanding of Management by Objective to advance the
goals of those who hire me. I have been able to work with little or no
supervision and take an idea and make it a reality, I have stepped into an
empty office space and made into a functioning space with staff on hand.
Others have told me that I have a high work ethic and need little
supervision once I understand what is needed.
In my last job I had to use all of those skills from my past careers in
order to be the best employee that I could be. I worked sales, customer
service, and office support and logistics for the sales department. In
order to do the job given I had to work with various department heads,
management, customers, and company staff on a daily basis. It was only due
to the lack of business that I was laid off.
