TruGreen Landcare- Irrigation Division Manager 2004- May 2010
Directly responsible to oversee daily operations of irrigation Department,
which services and supports commercial clientele from three Northern
Virginia TruGreen Landcare branches.
Following is a list of actions I was responsible for on a daily basis:
. Sales and estimates for irrigation add-ons, new installations, pond
installs, pond maintenance, fountain installs and some of the more
difficult irrigation repairs. (responsible for $250,000-$400,000 personal
sales annually)
. Scheduling and shifting of personnel for 3 service crews
. All necessary paperwork (billing, timesheets, proposals, safety reviews)
. All communication about status of irrigation systems to 15 client account
(area) managers, 3 branch managers & numerous property
managers.
. Ordering and stocking of irrigation parts
. Troubleshoot and propose difficult irrigation repairs
. Coordination of other trades (plumbers, electricians, etc.)
. Utility Notification at jobsites
. Maintain quality of work from crews
. Bi-monthly report of overall status of Irrigation Department to Branch
manager(Budget
reviews, Financials, etc.)
Additional responsibilities added at TruGreen Landcare May 2009- May 2010
Additional responsibilities were added to above list, to include
scheduling and managing of a maintenance & mowing crew.
Responsible for mowing, mulching, turf applications, pruning, shearing and
any sales and estimates for commercial property upkeep (11 properties).
Maintain and manage quality of work and personnel. Responsible for all
safety issues, job requirements and corporate policies.
Hydro-Tech Irrigation Operations/Production Manager 1991-2003
Responsible for supporting crewmembers, foreman, service technicians,
office personnel and management during installations and other daily
routines. Directly responsible for decisions and actions necessary to
enable crews to perform daily work in an efficient and productive manner.
Following is a list of actions I was responsible for on a daily basis:
-Scheduling and shifting of personnel for 5 full time installation crews
-Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained and in working condition
-Order, maintain and store necessary product materials to install and
service irrigation systems
-Order any special materials needed, not normally carried in stock
-Resolve any emergency situation that may arise through out the day ( i.e.
- broken down
equipment and vehicles, flooded basements, injured employees, foreman and
service
techs with questions or concerns, damaged property by crew on jobsite)
-Layout irrigation system for foreman to install in mornings
-Check and monitor ongoing installations at commercial sites
-Attend necessary on site progress meetings at commercial sites
-Create irrigation submittals for commercial jobs
-Create finishing materials for residential and commercial close outs (i.e-
Operation
manuals, As-Builts and any other necessary paperwork)
-Walk thru completed irrigation systems with owners or owner agents ( i.e
- Architects
and designers)
-Help salesman with estimates and research for commercial bids
-Coordinate other trades as necessary ( i.e- Plumbers, electricians,
coredrills, wells and
deliveries)
-Ensure necessary permits and utility notifications are obtained and
current
-Maintain quality of work being performed by employees
- Employee training
Other duties included irrigation designs, estimations, service calls,
troubleshooting
systems, collecting money, answering phones and answering customer
question.
Stan Young Construction Installation Asst./ Equipment Operator 1988-1991
Responsible for assisting in installation and construction of septic
drainfield
systems for residential homes. Includes running of 4" and 2" piping,
setting of
concrete septic and pump tanks, excavating, filling and leveling of gravel
drainage ditches. Wide range of duties included use of transit, skid
loader, and
full size backhoe.
Velsco Irrigation installation crewmember 1987-1988
Responsible in assisting foreman and other members of crew to install
complete
and new irrigation systems at residential properties. Range of duties
included
running of vibratory plow trencher, excavating and installing valves,
sprinkler
heads, pvc piping, pvc fittings and wiring of irrigation systems.
