consistent design and core messaging to all markets and stakeholders.

In September 1993, Siemens Corporation, then a $17 billion holding company

for 14 U.S.-based operations, hired me to establish and lead its first

public relations operation in Chicago, creating and directing public

relations and corporate communications programs in support of Siemens

operating companies in the Midwest, serving the power generation,

automotive, and industrial automation markets, among others. Early in 1996,

I was promoted and given additional responsibilities for the southeast

region, directing PR and corporate communications for Siemens Energy &

Automation, Siemens Transmission & Distribution, and other operations in

the area. I successfully directed and managed a six-person internal cost-

recovery PR organization.

. Key member of the global communications team established during

Siemens AG's acquisitions of ElectroWatt and Westinghouse; managed

U.S.-based communications. Also provided communications counseling and

strategy as a key member of the Siemens AG international integration

teams.

. Drafted crisis communication guidelines for Siemens Corporation and

its U.S. subsidiaries; now used by Siemens worldwide.

. Successfully managed public and media relations efforts associated

with the closings of Siemens manufacturing facilities in Chicago,

Milwaukee and Little Rock, achieving fair and balanced media coverage.

. Led the marketing communications strategies for the Siemens Energy

Solutions Group and Siemens Automotive Council, both internal
