Objective:
College graduate with an Applied Science Associate's Degree as Networking
Specialists looking for a company where I may utilize my college coursework
experience as well as employment experience. I also have a strong
managerial background that will benefit both the company and myself. Most
of my computer experience comes from outside of school and my hobby of
computers. I have two servers set up at home including a VPN connection to
log onto my network. I've been working with computers for about fifteen
years. This has included troubleshooting, virus removal and new
installations.
EXPERIENCE:
09/2009- 03/05/2010 VisionIT/EDS/HP
Lansing, MI
Level 1 Incident Agent
. Offer level one IT support to phone clients throughout the Global
General Motors environment.
. Log calls and assistance via ticketing system. Send tickets to second
level support if necessary.
. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues including all Microsoft
products, wireless connections, networking issues and VPN
connections. This also includes Lotus notes mail and databases
starting with version 6.5.4 up to version 8.5.
. Hardware issues were with laptops, desktops, servers and printers.
These were mostly covered by warranties and the client had to be
routed to the proper area for replacement. Before any of this could
occur we did have to go through troubleshooting steps to ascertain the
correct course of action to be taken.
. Software issues, as explained above, included Microsoft products,
including Office, Outlook, Windows operating system XP Pro, Vista and
we had just started with Windows 7. This included ascertaining what
the specific problem the client was having and finding a resolution.
. Wireless issues would range from the specific hardware not
functioning, to not being able to connect to the wireless network.
Troubleshooting steps would be taken and a resolution we be
established. This could range from IP conflicts or problems to DHCP
problems. Most wireless issues were with clients that were connecting
from home through a VPN service.
. Handle any VPN issues from clients in the States, United Kingdom,
Egypt and South America. This also included any third party vendors
that were manufacturing parts for General Motors. VPN issues were as
simple as a problem with the website, a VPN certificate had to be re-
issued or a problem on the clients end.
. General Motors uses Lotus Notes for email and its database. Most
clients were using Lotus Notes 6.5.4 but an upgrade was in place for
8.0 as well as a new roll-out for 8.5. Issues included problems with
not getting emails, calendar settings, including shared calendar
setting when a manager and assistant were involved, to layout and
design problems with the software itself. Database problems were
mainly problems when the database's were moved to new servers and the
client wasn't aware of the move. Often time Lotus Notes would have to
be set up for the client either for Lotus Notes, Local Roaming Notes
or Roaming Notes.
. All incidents were handled via phone, email or chat. The application
Windows NetMeeting was used to remote into the client's system to
correct any problems they were having.
. I also had to assist advisor's for the On Star environment with
hardware, software and phone issues. These included all facilities in
the United States, Canada and the Philippines.
. I also did Blackberry support for the client's that were issued
Blackberry's. This involved restarts of the phone, to application
issues and installation of the desktop software and configuration with
the Blackberry.
. I also supported multiple dealerships throughout the United States and
Canada in reference to the application they used to purchase and sell
vehicles on-line. This also included any software problems they had
with their PC's included the Lease Management System they used.
. I also did password resets for the clients via Active Directory.

Shipping Supervisor
. Ensure accurate assembly of orders and prompt shipment to
customers.
. Oversee and delegate tasks to sixteen employees.
. Both areas had a ship/fill rate of ninety percent or better for
all shipments, unless there was an issue with a delay of stock being
delivered to the facility. I was also in charge of hiring and
termination of employees, disciplinary measures for non compliance of
company rules or policies and distribution of vacation time. For
approximately the last four months of employment I was also in charge
of the receiving and maintenance departments and final shutdown of
shipping at the facility, due to the fact that the shipping/receiving
departments were moved to the California location. When the
California location started up I was also in charge of their
scheduling and shipping. Employees were sent to the Michigan facility
where myself and the Shipping Manager oversaw their training.
